Evil in Riddles {Tom Riddle} (Wattys 2018)

2|| "Are you hitting on me, Riddle?"*

It was the first day of classes. Serena lazily went to the Great Hall where her friend Alysia Lovegood is waiting for her in the Slytherin table. Alysia waved at her and she came and sat down.

"Hey Eli, how's summer?" She asked. Serena shrugged.

"Aly, how many times do I have to tell you that I'm Serena, not Elizabeth?" Alysia laughed.

"Nah, you're middle name is Elizabeth" Serena glared at her and she continued laughing.

"My god, you're weird" Serena said and Alysia shrugged.

"Hey, you know the reason why I'm like this"

"Oh shut up"

They stood up and went to classes, only when Alysia bumped into someone in the hallways.

"I'm sorry--" Alysia looked up and froze. There stood Abraxas Malfoy, with Tom Riddle behind him.

"Malfoy, Riddle" Serena sneered.

"Well, long time no see, Gaunt" he said bluntly. She suddenly smirked.

"Don't forget our deal, Slave. You can't hurt me" those within earshot gasped. He just glared at her.

"Now, carry our books" he just scoffed but did it anyway. Malfoy just stared at her in shock.

"How did you do that?"

"Oh, just a thing called a deal" Serena said bluntly then left, Alysia following her.

They were in the Great Hall for Lunch. Riddle and his gang sat with Alysia and Serena not that far from them.

The gang whispered in hushed voices until Riddle said something that caught Serena's attention.

"Nothing, Avery. It's just that someone made me a stupid slave for a month" Serena stood up and went to them.

"Are you hitting on me, Riddle?" She snapped. He just stared at her then smirked.

"I didn't say anything that it was you" she then laughed, much to their surprise.

"Do you have a diary, Riddle?" Serena suddenly asked.

The gang fell silent, shock in their faces. Tom just glared at her. She gave them a smug look.

"Well? What is your answer, Riddle?"

They were still silent, until Serena spoke.

"Accio Tom Riddle's diary" In split seconds, Tom's diary is in Serena's hands. The diary had a black covering, with the name Tom Marvolo Riddle written in gold on it.

"Tom Marvolo Riddle. I never thought that you of all people had a diary" she spoke then grabbed him by the arm and left.

She led him to the library and made him sit down. She also sat down then laid the book in front of him.

She conjured at quill then began writing.

I am Serena Gaunt

It didn't took a few seconds until a writing appeared.

Hello Gaunt

She smirked at Riddle then returned to the diary.

Tell me, do you want to meet your mother?

Of course, that's why I agreed to be your servant in the first place

"Looks like Diary Riddle is updated, huh" she went back to writing.

Goodbye, Riddle

Goodbye, Gaunt

She slammed the book shut. He glared at her as she stood up. He grabbed her by the arm and pushed her to the wall.

"Let. Me. Go" she warned. Her eyes became black, and so is Riddle's.

"I won't" his grip on her tightened, and Serena was angry at him now. He had pushed her too far.

"I said let go of me!" She shouted and he blasted into the other side.

The walls were changing, from bitter gray to pitch black, well, on the wall behind her.

The wall where Tom is leaning at now is still bitter gray. She stared into the distance blankly, her heart filled with nothing but darkness.

Geez, I'm getting weird at this. The other characters will appear, eventually, and they also have their own stories (That doesn't include Serena or Tom in it).
