6|| 'Right now, you must realize that you are switching identities'

Serena woke up, and gasped.

She wasn't in the Slytherin dorms, she wasn't even inside Hogwarts Castle. She was underwater. She was in the Black Lake, near the castle.

She also realized that she can breathe underwater, and looked at her hands. Her nails were manicured light blue, not the dark violet she used to have. She swam up until she saw the night sky.

She swam to the land looked in the water. She looked at her reflection under the moonlight, and gasped yet again.

Instead of a girl with golden blonde hair and dark brown eyes, there stood a girl with almost white blonde hair and snow blue eyes. She was still in her Slytherin school robes, thankfully. She snapped her fingers and appeared in Headmaster Dippet's office.

"A new student, eh?" The Headmaster asked, and she nodded.

"The letter, please" she reached for her pocket and found a letter there. She gave it to him and he started reading it.

"Crystal Snow Peverell, 16 years old. Came from Beauxbatons and a half Veela, correct?" She nodded.

"Well then, I shall ask one of the Prefects to lead you to the Slytherin dormitories" Serena, or rather Crystal shook her head.

"No needs, my cousin already told me how to go there"

"And who is your cousin, perhaps?"

"Serena Elizabeth Gaunt, Professor"

"Oh! What a great student she is. Very well then, you may now leave" she nodded then left.

It was already dinner, and as she was walking through the Great Hall, someone shouted.

"Look everyone! It's Lady Peverell!"

People stopped talking to stare at her, and Crystal just rolled her eyes and went to the Slytherin table.

As she was eating, the Sorting Hat suddenly appeared.

"Glamora Milly Weasley!"

Glamora walked to the Sorting Hat and it was placed on her head.

"Slytherin!" Everyone gasped, as Glamora's Gryffindor school robes turned into Slytherin ones. People started whispering, and then Professor Dumbledore then spoke.

"Silence! Miss Peverell, would you please lead Miss Weasley to the Slytherin dorms" Crystal nodded, and went to Glamora.

"Weasley, come with me" Glamora nodded, and followed her to the dungeons.

As they were walking down the halls, someone stopped them.

"Stop!" Glamora froze, as Tom Riddle came to them.

"What are you two doing here?" He snapped, but Crystal stared at him blankly.

"Haven't you heard, Riddle? Weasley's a Slytherin now" Crystal said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Tom just stared at her in confusion.

"How did you know my surname?" She just shrugged.

"Of course, who wouldn't? And then again, my cousin Serena always complains how much she loathes you" He narrowed his eyes on her.

"Where is she, then?"

"How should I know? I just came here, remember?" she snapped. He just nodded and left them alone. Crystal just shrugged and she and Glamora went to the Slytherin dorms.

The next day...

She woke up, and started preparing for classes. As she was already leaving, she saw her reflection in the mirror. She froze.

She wasn't Crystal anymore. She was Serena again. She saw a note on the mirror.

Dear Serena,

You may not know who I am, but I know who you are. Right now, you must realize that you are switching identities. At exactly 6:00 PM, you will be Crystal Snow Peverell. And at exactly 3:00 AM, you will be Serena Elizabeth Gaunt. That is all.

There was no name to tell who sent it, and Serena stared on it and read it many times until the letter suddenly disappeared.

She shrugged and went to the Great Hall, where everyone kept whispering about her being England's Princess or being Lady Peverell's cousin.

"Serena Elizabeth Gaunt!" Someone shouted. She turned to face him. It was Tom Riddle, glaring at her. She sighed, irritated.

"What is it now?" She snapped. He walked to her, and now their faces were inches apart.

"Why is your cousin here?"

"Crystal? Of course she's here. She's a transfer student" she bluntly said, rolling her eyes.

"I must go. You should, too. You wouldn't be late for classes, would you?" Serena said then left, leaving Tom in confusion.

I know that it's a bit of a cliffhanger but I promise that the next chapters will be better. There's just one question.

Why do you think that Serena switches identities?
