The Jesse twins couldn't see anything. And even if they weren't being attacked, the shrieks of a girl dying down rapidly frightened them. They had been trying to crack the case with the murderer, and the killer had attacked again.
But who was getting attacked?
The shrieks were coming from a girl, which made the twins worry about Olivia.
"Olivia?!" said M. Jesse, almost in a whisper.
"D-don't worry, bro! L-Lukas is with her!" said F. Jesse.
She was trying to help her brother feel more confident that Olivia was okay, but now it made her worried about Lukas to.
The shrieks finally died down, and the lights turned back on. The twins could see that they were still in the room. They rushed back out, looking for whoever got attacked.
"Olivia?! Lukas?!" cried M. Jesse.
"Guys!" said a voice.
The twins turned around and heard footsteps coming up the stairs. To their relief, Olivia and Lukas came up to them. Not a scratch on them.
"Oh thank notch! You're okay!" said M. Jesse.
"We could say the same for you!" said Lukas. He let out a sigh of relief.
"But... who got attacked?" said F. Jesse.
Olivia was already running down the hallway. All the doors were locked, except for one. She was frightened to look inside, but she had to look. She had to see who it was that got attacked.
"Oh notch..." she whispered. She covered her mouth, but still gasped.
The twins and Lukas rushed over to the room, and they were horrified to see who the killer's newest victim was.
Lying on the floor of her room was Carrie. And like with Tommy and Sean, she had been brutally beaten. Though, for some reason, her injuries made it look like she got drenched in blood from on top of her head first.
She was lying on the floor, faintly breathing. She must've been crying, for her eyes were glassy. F. Jesse approached the dying girl.
"Carrie..." she said sadly.
Carrie didn't respond. She was staring up at the ceiling. She must've accepted that she was going to die.
"momma..." she faintly whispered.
She suddenly went limp. F. Jesse could see that Carrie was starting to lose her breath. She knew that Carrie couldn't be saved, but she could do something for Carrie. The raven-haired girl took Carrie's hand and held it, as if a way to comfort her.
"thank... you..." Carrie whispered.
She closed her eyes, and in a matter of seconds, Carrie stopped breathing. She was completely still. The sound of a poof went off, and all that was left was her inventory.
"Poor girl..." said Lukas sadly.
"She didn't deserve it. Neither did Sean or Tommy... none of them deserved to be brutally killed..." said Olivia.
The group turned around, expecting the other guests or even the manager to come and see what happened. This time, no one came upstairs to investigate. There was not even the sounds of footsteps coming from down the hallways.
"Guess no one wants to know who died... they expected another death in a sense..." said M. Jesse. "Or they were all hiding too far away to hear Carrie's shrieks..."
"The killer knew everyone was splitting up. It would've been the perfect time to kill off someone who tried to shelter themselves, but they were really easy prey..." said F. Jesse.
