Pulling into my mother's driveway I could hear her play her old school hits. Miami got out before I did and was knocking but there was no answer. He walked around back and tried knocking while I looked for my keys. Just as I was about to call she pulled up in a cream colored Audi Miami had bought her so that she didn't look too desperate towards her new man.

"Ma, can you explain to me why you would leave your radio up so loud?"

"I didn't and I can tell by the way you acting, you didn't get my message."

"What message" as she turned the key to open the door. "That message, she pushed the door open and there was my hoe ass brother Marcus Meeks better known to the streets as Big Meeks. Marcus had just touched down in the free from doing a nickel piece in Rikers. I hadn't talked or wrote him in the last two years. We never really got along due to his need to bully. For some reason he thought that he was going to handle me like he did those sack chasers of his. I hated him with every bone in my body and he knew it.

One thing about Marcus was that he had no respect for anyone except himself and on these streets it made him Ruthless. Before he did his bid he was the man in South Beach and you couldn't pay a dude to fuck with him until all hell broke loose one day and that became his last day as a free man. I only went up a time or two simply because my mom asked me to. Little did he know the man that stood in front of him was now The Man. Miami handed my mother an engagement invitation and rushed me out the door. "So that hoe ass nigga is your brother huh? Funny how you never mentioned him before."

"Well honestly I try not to think about him on behalf of the past we shared. Did you know him before he went in or something?"

"No, I didn't but I heard story about him and all I can say is that the streets don't belong to him anymore, they belong to me and he gone have to find his place. Basically, he's gone have to come with it."

"Miami I hope that you don't plan on doing anything stupid. Meeks has connection everywhere and I don't want anyone getting hurt." Miami raised his voice "So what you think that bitch ass punk has more clout than me? Let me tell your ass something and I'm done with this pussy ass shit."

"My name is DeCarlos Pierce and my father was once the worst mutha-fucka walking and I promised him I was going die trying to get what he couldn't. If that's what it takes in order for me to be the Don then fuck it and they mothers too." Word got around pretty fast about Marcus being out. I knew for a fact that things would never be the same with two of Miami's deadliest banging heads. Folks were at war and had no idea what was about to go down so that one of these killers would become King. What Meeks didn't know was that it was Miami that was taking over the streets. On the flip side Miami didn't think that he was going to have to die for his title. Since there was nothing and no one that could stop this war all would be at peace until Meeks found out otherwise.

On the way back Miami dropped me at work and proceeding on about his day. I was lucky that they needed me and that was the only reason I still had a job. I caught up with Aja on the third floor and the look on her face was not pretty. "Hey babe what's up?"

"Nothing, but we need to talk."

"Okay about what?"

"So you remember when we went out to the seven-o-eight area that day and you said that it was something about Black that you were not feeling?"

"Yeah and go on"

"Well, now Kilo thinks that he may know what's up with him."

"Really and where is that?"
