Niklaus and I's 'date' last night was not bad, except for the whole, 'Don't worry about it right now' thing, that really sort of killed me. I looked beside my bed and grabbed my glasses, it's too early in the morning for contacts. I yawned lightly, and stretched myself forward, causing my back to pop. Ow, but you know, felt good too. I got up from my bed and shook my head, from the ponytail that contained my wavy and incredibly untamable hair.

I walked over to my bathroom that was just down the hallway and did my business. As soon as I got out, I walked over to my room and grabbed all my basic necessities that I would need after I shower - or bath. I closed my bedroom door, and walked back over to the bathroom. I set all my things down on the counter beside the sink, and turned to face the shower. I pulled the water knob, and let the semi-hot water run down as I undressed. I grabbed the silver plug and closed the drain, letting the water flow down from the tub faucet.

Once the water reached a certain height, I stopped the water from running out and stepped in. I sat down in the tub, letting the water cover up my body. Once my legs got fully soaked underneath the water, gone they were and in their place was a blue six foot scaley tail. I sighed, relaxation taking over as I closed my eyes and sunk down under.

I sang the song my mother used to sing to me, a catchy little song that she said her parents would use to lull her to sleep. I loved it, it was slow with a steady rhythm that seemed like no one had ever heard before.

"Tell the king, I'm on my way.
They'll never guess what I have seen.
                                             A woman on the rocks,
Her hair was red and beautiful.
She wrapped her fingers around their strands
And comb her hair, as she sang
She'd let her voice take over her.
                                         This was the mermaids song.
                                         This was the mer-"

As I was getting to that last phrase, a clash of pots and pans boomed through my flat. I rose up from the water, rubbing my eyes, began to slightly panic. I couldn't let anyone see me, who I was. I pushed myself up and grabbed my towel. Footsteps approached the hallway, I could hear them crystal clear. They stopped right in front of my bathroom, turning the handle on the door slightly. I quickly pushed my tail underneath me, knowing it'd hurt me just a bit. I leaned against the rum of the tub, poking my head out to see who it was that dared to come in to my home.

The door swung up and there he was. Damon bloody Salvatore. I groaned, throwing my head back. This is idiot got me panicking because he entered my flat as per usual, as if its a routine for him. He has got to stop coming in unannounced. I raised a brow, huffing out a breath of air.

"What are you doing here, Damon?" I asked, a hint of annoyance was present as I spoke.

He smiled, "Oh, just came to see my favourite little singer." He stood underneath my bathroom doorway, with that stupid smile on his face. God, he's going to be a problem later on.

"Well, she's good and naked, and wet. So if you don't mind, Get out so she could at least get covered up." I said, referring myself as 'she' in third person.

"Why are talking in third person, Ashten?" He asked, letting out a small chuckle.

I furrowed my brows together, opening my mouth slightly, and squinting my eyes. "Are you serious, Damon? Get out." I said, chucking a bar of soap at him in hope that he'd leave. He didn't.

I groaned, "Please Damon. At least let me get out of here?" I pleaded.

He nodded, "Okay" he said in response but didn't budge. Oh boy, he'll be a pain later most definitely.

"Can you, like, walk out of my bathroom and give me some privacy?" I asked, hoping he'd leave.

"C'mon Ashten,  no need to be so conservative.  Believe me, I've seen plenty of naked women in my time what you have is nothing new to me." Damon said, chuckling.

Yes it is, you haven't seen this type of women. My thoughts popped up, speaking in my mind, yet it was not the one I intended to say to him. "Damon, please. Just wait outside." I said, I was close to begging.

He walked up to me, and grabbed the towel from my hands. He pulled my arm to push my on my feet - small problem with that however, I had no feet. Only a six foot scaley tail. I bite my lip, his eyes averting down to waist. He let me go, letting me fall down on the tub, splashing water out of it.

"What the hell are you?!" He exclaimed, his face completely shocked and confused.

"This is why I told you to get out and let me at least get out." I said, letting my tail move around the water.

He opened his mouth to talk, confusion still plastered on his face. "You're a mermaid?"

"You're a vampire. We have now established what we were, can you get out of my bathroom so I can explain?" I said, rolling my eyes at him.

He nodded and backed away from my bathroom, closing the door behind him. And now he knows, how great is that.
