Melina's P.O.V.
My arms were tightly wrapped around Harry, desperately trying to warm myself up as we stood in the cold air. I sneaked my hand into the basket filled with sweets we had just gotten from our neighbour and fished out a cookie, smiling approvingly at the woman standing next to us once it melted in my mouth. She smiled thankfully and continued chatting with her husband.
My eyes wandered off to my brother, who was standing there with a scowl on his face, not looking happy at all as he held the bottle of prosecco. Although, I knew it was simply because Harry and I were being affectionate. He actually loved this holiday, it was it's favourite
"Lighten up" I told him, a smile finding its way onto his lips. I smiled back and pushed my body closer to Harry's as I was freezing, his hand starting to rub my back
"Are you really that cold?" Harry laughed
"Are you kidding? I'm dying" I answered, peeking at my watch to see only a minute remained 'till midnight
"Are you sure your want to go out? Considering you're already freezing" Harry said
"Of course we're going out. We'll be inside; I won't be cold then" I answered stubbornly
"Alright" he chuckled
"20 seconds" Giorgio announced, preparing to open the bottle
"10, 9, 8, 7" we counted all together "6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..."
Giorgio popped the bottle open as the fireworks started and I lifted my head
"Happy New Year, Harry" I smiled as I clung onto his coat
"Happy New Year, love" Harry returned the smile and placed a passionate kiss on my lips, pulling back when Giorgio coughed. I shot my brother a look, but he innocently held up the bottle of prosecco and poured some into our glasses
"Buon anno!" I held up my glass towards my neighbours, smiling broadly
"Buon anno!" they chorused and clinked their glasses with ours, before we gazed at the sky to see the fireworks, boats honking in the background
"Happy New Year, idiot" I smiled at my brother, playfully pushing him
"Happy New Year, cioccolato" he returned the smile and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
And we stood there, perfectly happy, with my two favourite boys in the world on both my sides.
Once the fireworks had finished, we said goodbye to our neighbours and went back inside to get ready for the night. I chose a shimmering little black dress with long sleeves and a round collar and went to the bathroom to do my make-up. As I was working on my smokey eyes, I noticed my brother walking in. He stood beside me, spraying plenty of au de toilette on his entire body, until his eyes fell on me
"You're wearing that?" he questioned in Italian
"Why? What's wrong with it?" I panicked, checking my dress for any stains or anything similar
"Nothing, but you're, like, not single anymore" Giorgio replied
"What's going on here?" Harry suddenly interrupted us jokingly as he walked into the bathroom with his toothbrush
"Giorgio is trying to tell me this dress is inappropriate" I answered Harry
"What's wrong with it?" Harry checked my dress with a frown on his face as he squirted toothpaste on his brush
"He says I shouldn't wear it because I'm not single anymore" I explained and Harry's eyes lit up just before he could push the toothbrush in his mouth
