I was aware of a steady humming noise coming from above me and the cool air blowing over my face, but I couldn't open my eyes. They no longer burnt from the salty brine of which I had fallen into, instead, something damp lay across my eyelids in a very soothing manner that relaxed me. With the comforting heat, the blanket that was draped over me provided I let the darkness consume me once again.
I awoke with a start in a room of complete silence. This time as I came to my eyes opened on their own accord without any force on my part, giving me a chance to take in my surroundings. I was in a small room that consisted of very little furniture besides the bed I was on, with two doors leading to who knows where. I let out a sudden cough just now noticing how dry and raw my throat felt from the pickle brine I had been submerged in, quickly glancing around again I decided to try the doors to see if I couldn't locate something to drink. The bed creaked as I readjusted myself to stand, then I made my way to the first door and with a moment's pause of uncertainty I turned the knob. Well at least now I know it's a closet, I then moved on to the second door and opened it. With a startled yelp I jumped back in surprise there behind the door stood a man with a glass of water resting in his hand as he stood there casually in the hallway that led from the door.
"Ahh, I see you've come to at last. I was just bringing a glass of water for when you were to wake," said the man with a charming smile. Nodding my head still in a bit of shock I took in his appearance his skin had a slight undertone of green, something I had never seen before but other than that he looked completely normal with black hair and green eyes. I must have been lost in thought, but the clearing of a throat brought me out of it.
"Here," he handed me the glass "as I said I brought this for you," and as though a last minute thought he added, "my names Jonathan, by the way"
After taking a much-needed drink from the glass I responded, "Faye, my name I mean is Faye." Offering up a small smile I was still in a state of wonder as to where I could be, and as though reading my thoughts Jonathan spoke.
"You must be wondering where you're at, well, come over here," he then led me to the window where I looked out, "this is Dillopickle[dill-ah-pick-ole]."*************************************************************
