        Ok so before I start I am sorry I haven't updated in like 2 months on this story, but we shall continue with Liu Shan. Is it just me or is he like one of my favorite people from Shu???? Anyway enjoy this, it might be angsty I don't know yet, let's find out!

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

         "My lord, we just found a Wei scout! What should we do with her?" (Y/N) was just caught trying to sneak into the Shu main camp without getting detected, so much for that. Now she was tied up and kneeling before Liu Shan, the son and heir of Liu Bei.

 (Y/N)'s P.O.V

     Pathetic, what's with that stupid grin he always has on his face? Is he so sadistic that he would want me killed right in front of his eyes? "No, do not harm her. I would like to speak with her privately, if that is alright with you my lady?"Liu Shan spoke with a soft smile, that smile-why is he always smiling? He looked directly at me awaiting my answer.

     "I am your prisoner, you can do what you want with me..." is he new to this or something, or is he just playing the nice card? What's with him?

     "But of course I would ask you first, we wouldn't want our guest to be uncomfortable, now would we?" Guest!? Is he serious right now!? I'm not his guest, I'm his prisoner!

    "A guest!? That's ridiculous, I'm your prisoner! You shouldn't be treating me this nicely, every time a Wei officer is found out about scouting you capture them and treat them like dirt! It isn't fair! Why now are you treating me like a human being and not calling me a Wei dog!?" Whenever an officer from Wei was captured they were always beaten and scolded for believing in Wei and not Shu! Why does he not treat me this way..?

    "How we treat our enemies is awful I agree, but I have no part in that. I only wish to spread kindness and stop this endless bloodshed, but it seems it is inevitable. I was hoping to join you as a recruit for Shu, but I guess it is no use. We shall keep you here fro now though, at least until this battle is over. We wouldn't want you attacking us right after we let you go, now would we?" Liu Shan may smile a lot, but he is no idiot. I see now that he shouldn't be taken lightly, not by anyone. I stand loyal to Wei, all the way to the end but I see he has some determination. Or is it want? The want, no the need to be like everyone else, the need to be accepted. What really lies under that smile?

     "That's smart I have to admit. Forgive me for asking but, why do you always smile? Your face will split if you smile so much."

      His smile faltered in less than half a second, then came back to normal again,"I just like to smile, don't you?" He was lying, any person with a brain could tell he was. Why would he lie though? Wasn't he the perfect child to his perfect father?

    "You're lying," you said it so bluntly his smile completely faltered,"at least not all the time. Everyone likes to smile, just some won't admit. I know your lying, I can tell." You were always great at reading faces and emotions.

     "Oh really? I would like to know how. If you tell me some valid reasons that I know are true I will untie your ropes and let you leave," at this I perked up,"but, if you aren't giving valid reasons you get to spend time in Shu for a year." Oh no, a year? A year away from Wang Yi and her amazing dinner parties? A year away from Cai Wenji and her melodies? A year away from my kingdom? A year away from the lovable Xu Zhu? You had to gamble, as much as you hated it. It wasn't like you didn't have any confidence in your skills, it was just so much was on the line.

   "Okay, but don't expect me to fight if I lose!",I took a deep breath and collected my thoughts,"well, I know you're lying because you always look away to the left and lift up you're eyebrows. I can also tell that smile is forced, or pained. I can tell because your eyes aren't smiling and some muscles aren't being used if you force a smile. It isn't that hard to tell really." He frowned a small frown, you were correct.

     As he untied your ropes and gave you your weopon(s) back he said,"Please don't tell anyone about my smile, I couldn't bare with the humiliation."

    "Even as your enemy, I wouldn't try to hurt a human being because of their problems. I won't tell, I promise." after that you called your horse and galloped away, back to your kingdom. Back to your home.

     Even after your first encounter you both actually met up a lot more during battles. Protecting each other actually, thankfully no one noticed. You both fell in love, but could never marry because of your ranking in the opposite kingdom. You both died alone, but together at the same time.

             "Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love." - Rainer Maria Rilke

(A/N): The quote below the story is absolutely astonishing to me, I love Rilke's quotes they are so inspiring. Anyway I know this is short and sped up but I haven't wrote on this story in a while so yeh. I hope you enjoyed this and I'll try to update soon!
