A/N:I saw this thing on Pinterest and it had this great soulmate au. I don't know who originally thought of this idea, but I'm going to use it! It's sad yes, but I think it'd be good. *silently drools over zhao* right, the story.
(Y/N) was a 27 year old young woman waiting for her soulmate. She was anxious and excited, but that excitement slowly faded as time passed on. On all her birthdays she wished she could meet the one she was meant to be with.
She instead has her soulmates last words tattooed on her skin. Hers said,'Watch out! Stop the car!' She was confused at this, but never dwelled on it for too long.
The young woman was curled up in her couch with her favorite blanket wrapping her in a burrito. She giggled at the tv, she was watching the news and the weatherman fell down while saying,'Now down here it will—'
All of a sudden the screen changed and in big bold letters said,'Breaking News!' She didn't dare change the Chanel. She paid attention to it as the woman reporter spoke.
'Just a few minutes ago a car accident happened on the highway. From our information a man by the name of Sima Zhao was driving with his friends to a nearby bar. His friend, Zhong Hui was the driver. When what we were told is that a drunk driver ran the red light.'
(Y/N) gasped, why must accidents like these happen?
'The crash was deadly, and only Sima Zhao's friends made it out safely. He was only 29 years old when he was pronounced dead during the ride to the hospital. Sima Zhao hadn't met his soulmate yet, and hopefully his soulmate is watching now.'
"That's awful, I hope his soulmate is feeling okay." (Y/N) whispered. Again has started listening to the woman.
'His last words were,"Watch out! Stop the car!" Hopefully his soulmate is watching, and will stop looking for her one true love. If she really is watching, we have provided a picture of him on the screen. God bless. It is truly a shame that the two will never meet.'
The (h/c)-ette widened her eyes and turned off the tv. Sima Zhao was her soulmate and he was taken away from her. She didn't even meet him yet, this was cruel for everyone. She knew this would happen. She knew she'd lose her love before they met. That's how these tattoos worked.
She sobbed and sobbed. She knew life was unfair, but this was just cruel. They didn't even get to know each other! It broke her heart to millions of pieces. She got up and went to the mirror. Looking at herself she gripped her hair in agony.
'Sorry I never got to meet you.' She heard voice in her mind. She wiped her eyes let go of her hair and stared closely at the mirror. She saw a figure, a man's figure. She looked closer.
It was Sima Zhao.
"What?" She mumbled. The figure walked closer to her in the mirror, till he was right in front of her.
"So you're my soulmate? Sucks I'm not alive anymore. I would've really like to get to know you." He confessed as he scratched the back of his head.
"Y-You're Sima Zhao? You were just on the news." (Y/N) inquired. She felt as though if she was going to cry.
"You know my name? Well, I guess I should know yours then. What is it?"
"(Y/N)." She smiled weakly.
"Well that's a gorgeous name. It only fits such a gorgeous lady." He smiled. She chuckled dryly before everything turned serious.
"Listen, I'm only able to see you for a short period of time every few years. I'll always be there though, I'll be your guardian angel. Er' more like your private bother. I'll protect you from harm, k? Just make sure you find happiness. Til' next time!" He smiled at the end and gave her a ghostly peck on the lips.
Hehe, get it? Ghostly? I'll stop.
She put her fingers on her lips as a few stray tears left her eyes.
"Till next time."
A/n:I'm honestly shaking right now, I need a minute to stop crying. Why did I do this to myself?
