   You were both young, so you didn't blame him. There was no confessions, you just heard he had a yearning for you. That was enough for you. You had a yearning for him as well. Though, it was more for pleasure for the both of you. Behind the scenes it was rough lovebites and hurried kisses. 

   Lianshi was her name. When she was first introduced, you thought of her as amazing. The way Quan looked at her, it was love at first sight. You never had anything against the woman, but the make out secessions all of a sudden stopped. You found out she was the reason why. You didn't blame her at all though, that would be immature. They got married, and you were left alone. Left behind.

   You congratulated both of them for their marriage, Quan looking guilty. You stood in front of the peach tree in the garden, a meeting place for both of you. He came of course, though you weren't there to just pleasure each other. You were here to talk.

   "(Y/N)..."he trailed. You smiled and turned to face him.

   "Do not feel pity for me Quan."you had told him.

   "I..."he was going to say something, but held his tongue. This had given me the opportunity to talk.

   "I am happy for you, my lord. What we had, was nothing. You are genuinely in love with her, I just want you to be happy. I never deserved to have love in my life, but I'm happy as long as you are. Just,"you had walked up to him,"just hug me one last time before you go back to her."

   That night was the turning point in your life, you had no reason to feel anything for him. Except loyalty. You would fight, and fight for your cause.

You would fight for someone you could never have.

For someone you could never truly love.
