Ling Tong x Reader

 (A/N): Honey I warn you, this is going to get angsty. I'm a depressed shit so yeah, sharing some feelings and let's go. Oofie.

 He lied to you. Why did he do it? You don't know, and you don't want to. You and Gan Ning have been married for 2 years, you were happy. At least that's what you thought. Just a couple months ago, before you were going off to war to fight for Wu you caught him. You caught him sleeping with another woman, a woman you don't to know. You don't care, you don't care about him anymore. You only carried about the duties you needed to carry out.

 "Alright is everyone here?"Sun Ce asked a smile on his face. Everyone nodded and sat down, you sat farthest away from Gan Ning. Saying you weren't happy with him would be an understatement,"alright, let us continue. Zhou Yu and the others have agreed to-"on and on he spoke you listened as best you could, though your negative thoughts would creep into your mind every so often. Though you didn't know Ling Tong sneaking worried glances toward you, he really loved you and hated Gan Ning for betraying your trust. The council ended and you were glad, yay.

 "Lady (Y/N), we would like to speak with you privately. Everyone else can leave."Zhou Yu called, looking at Gan Ning for a brief second. You saw Sun Ce, Zhou Yu, Daqiao, and Xiaoqiao. The happy couples of Wu at the time.

 "Of course."you say, uncertain of what they would want you for. Or so you thought.

 "Lady (Y/N), your behavior has been very-unlike you. Are you alright?"Zhou Yu asks with concern. All of Wu knew that Gan Ning was whoring around with that woman and felt pity for you, they knew you loved him deeply.

 "I'm fine."you respond a fake smile spreading your face, you begged for them not to see through it.

 "No your not!"the small strawberry female scorned.

 "But I am Xaioqiao, don't worry about me."my voice wavering, I was ready to cry. Out of all the fierce warriors here, these four had the most compassion towards me.

 "Stop lying to yourself, we know your hurt."Daqiao stated looking saddened.

 "Don't make such a troubled face Daqiao, I'm the one whose supposed to be sad here."you teased. It was more or less a joke but the four most certainly did not think it was funny.

 "Don't joke about things like that."Sun Ce said sternly.

 "Sorry,"you laughed,"but I'm fine really! I'll let you know if I ever lose hope, I'll always come to you four!"you walked away, done with this one-sided arguement. You walked over to your chambers, closing the wood door shut. You sighed and changed out of your armor into your normal, relaxing attire. You walked out to the garden, you would always do this. Sometimes you'd stay out here and look at the plants, never growing tired of it.

 "Seems as though I am alone out her, again."you sigh tiredly. You walked around for a while thinking about everything happening in your life. You married a man you loved, he betrayed you and cheated with you. He left you heartbroken, you wonder why though? Was it just because he thought you looked hot? Was it because of the perks that came with marriage? Or was it to mess with me. So much was going on and it hurt your brain turning to complete mush.

You're fine, you'd say.

You're fine.

Right?

 You felt as though if you wanted to murder, but at the same time you felt numb. Why? Why can't your brain just pick one emotion and stick with it? You ran your hand through your hair, seeking some kind of relief,"Maybe it was for the best...?"you questioned, maybe you were lucky. Suffering heartbreak instead of living a miserable and naive life. You knew it would be some time before you two would start interacting, maybe you both never would.

 "What are you doing out here so late?"you look over and see Ling Tong, you smile. He was another person who cared about you, a person you were grateful to have in your life. He smiled softly back and sat down next to you on the stone bench you were sitting on.

 "I come out here every night, to look at the stars and-think."you stated randomly as you studied the small looking balls of energy and light contrasting the dark violet sky. You didn't know he was studying you though, even when it was so dark out. The shining stars illuminated your face, highlighting your best features. He thought you were amazing, no incredible, no absolutely stunning. He knew you didn't think of yourself as anyone special, but you were the most special person to him.

 "You know I'm here for you right?"he says continuing to look at you, you look back at him smiling even brighter than before.

 "I know. Thank you."you say hugging him.

 He's shocked at first, but eases into the hug. He wants to confess his love. But he'll wait because he knows, he knows you still have fresh wounds that need to heal. He knows those wounds will become scars, and those scars he will help you forget. He'll love you and cherish you for all eternity, even if you say no.

And he hopes you don't.

 (A/N): This was originally going to be a Gan Ning x Reader but I was like, nah let's do Ling Tong first. Sorry it's a little short, I didn't have many ideas for this
