Shades Of Red

Chapter Thirteen

The door knob jiggled as they tried to get in. a mumbled ‘Damn it’ was heard between them as he tried to open the door.  Adrian just had to lock the door when it was time to leave for the trip.  

“Maybe Adrian locked it because he’s tired.”  the young sixteen year old said beside Alex and Vlad.  “but shouldn’t you be beside him in bed? You two are a couple.”  Colby shrugged. “To be honest, he’s getting uninteresting. He nice and all, but he’s too worried about the future to notice us together.”  Alex pursed his lips. “Adrian loves you. He’s probably just scared to lose you.  Anytime he’s scared, he locks himself up to think.”  Alex held onto Colby’s shoulder politely, moving his blond hair away from his eye.   

Adrian can hear everything they said.

Uninteresting.

Worried.

Sick.

Tired.

Scared.

Adrian was sick and tired to hear all of it. From his brother, his Vice, and his own Boyfriend.  Adrian hated everything.  Looking to the alarm clock, he watched the minutes pass by, a few knocks echoed through the room as he just kept ignoring them.   Soon enough, the door opened and Alex pushed Colby into the room, closing the door.  Colby walked over to Adrian and sat next to him.  

“Baby.. is everything alright?” Colby asked, taking Adrian’s cold hand. Intertwining the fingers, Adrian felt a tear roll down his cheek.   “I’m sorry..” Adrian whispered. Colby had a look of sadness as he watched Adrian’s tears flood down his pink cheeks. “I messed up your life. You could’ve been having a normal life with someone normal by now. But no, i had to be selfish with you and keep you away.”  Adrian put his head into his free hand, tears soaked his sleeved hand.  “No Adrian, you didn’t mess up my life, you actually made it. I’m happy how you’re selfish with me, and i don’t care if you’re normal or not, i’m in love with the man i know. And that man is you.  I love you so much, i’m not going to leave no matter what happens.” Colby lifted Adrian’s head to face him, kissing his nose. Adrian actually smiled and kissed Colby fully on the lips, pushing him on the bed.

Colby paced around Adrian’s office nervously as he tried to figure out what to say. He didn’t know how to say this, he honestly couldn’t believe it himself that it happened. He couldn’t be more scared and nervous.

The doors opened to reveal Adrian with his briefcase. He just came back from a late meeting and he was tired. Looking up, he smiled happily at Colby.   
“Hey babe, why aren’t you in bed? It’s almost two in the morning.” Adrian walked up to Colby, kissing his forehead.  “A-adrian.. Uhm.. there’s something i need to tell you.” Colby was getting scared to tell him.  Adrian looked worried. “What is it? Are you okay?”  Adrian sat down his briefcase and held Colby close. “I’m not sure, this hasn't ever happened before.. But..” Colby gulped the lump in his throat.  

“I’m.. Pregnant.”

Adrian smiled big and kissed his forehead. “You had me worried, i thought you sick or something.”  Colby looked up at Adrian shocked. “You don’t care that i’m pregnant?” Colby was going to cry. “Oh baby, of course i care! This is just.. New to me. I never really know how to react to things like this. I’m sorry.”  Adrian explained.  Colby smiled and kissed Adrian. “It’s okay, it’s new to me too.”

Adrian dropped to his knees as he saw the body.  Blood still oozed out the small hole in his head. His cheek still wet from recant tears.
