A half of a year had past since the fall of the Institution. Life adapted real quick, the specials got along with the normals and vise-versa. The city even built a statue in tribute for finally having peace between the two. Of course there are still people who believe it was wrong to live with these 'menace' to society. Also the other way around, were some of the specials believe it is wrong to live with the regular humans. There will be no such thing as a perfect world, but we can hope right? Look at me, rambling on and on. You're here to find out what happened to the gang, am I right? Alright, Alright, Fine.
The gang was sitting up on a beautiful hill below a massive tree, having a family picnic. The triplets were now the size of toddlers, and speaking full sentences. All of them were walking and especially Ryker, finally caught up with his sisters.
Now they slowed down in growth, and showed slight signs of powers. They were not much, but it was enough for Sonic to love them even more than he already did.
Everyone was also excited to know that Silver was expecting, and all Sonic could do was joke around about it. The proud papa seemed nervous on how the baby will end up like.
"Mephiles you need to stop worrying so much. No matter what they look like, we'll still love them." Silver tried to calm down his mate. He currently was nearly three months, and was barely showing.
"I'm just scared. What if it gets my mutations?" Mephiles sighed.
"So what, you'll still love them." Fiona added, trying to help. "We all will."
"Speaking of children, when do you guys think you'll have kids?"Laura turned to Fiona and Scourge.
"Yeah.. Well, I.. I can't have kids."Scourge chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck. "We've tried before-"
"We both got tested. He literally can not have kids. Not that I'm complaining" Fiona laughed, nudging him in the side.
Slightly embarrassed, everyone just laughed it off. Jokes were thrown around for a little as they played with the triplets.
"So what are we all talking about?" Shadow walked over, setting fresh food down in the middle of the group. He chuckled when one of the kids attached to his leg.
Now for Shadow, he was still healing. With in these few short months, the burnt parts of his skin were all healed. Slight scars were left over, but other then that, you couldn't tell.
Now for the limbs that were only half destroyed were fully back in a month. No scars whatsoever, you couldn't even see the difference where the limb was gone from.
Although, Shadow's arm and leg that was fully gone, those were taking a longer time to heal. Close to half of the limbs were back, but they were growing back slowly. The doctor suggested a prosthetic for both, but Shadow refused to wear the arm one. He'd rather get used to it, then keep changing it over and over again. Shadow quickly got used to wearing the one on his leg. Although he is still adjusting to walking again, he was glad to be able to spend time with family.
"We're just joking around, and excited to get another kid into the pool." Mephiles chuckled lowly, as he pulled off his mask. He punched Shadow's shoulder lightly as he sat down.
"Enough jokes, just eat" Shadow smiled. Shadow watched as everyone digged in, laughing at each other. He was so overjoyed to know he survived, yet part of him hoped he didn't. But when he saw their faces when he first woke up from his coma, he knew he did right.
-A few months after the fall of the Institute-
Shadow groaned lightly, as all of his senses were hit in overdrive. The smell of chemicals and medicine made him gag, as the lights blinded him. The annoying beeping by his ears caused him to try to 'turn it off'. Someone sighed as they walked into the room, checking through their phone. Only to see something shift in the corner of his eye.
