Why can't it be?

Chapter Twenty

Tatlong gabi silang nanatili sa Baguio bago sila lumuwas ng Manila. Kahit mas gusto niyang manatili sila na magkasama sa malayong lugar ay kapwa sila may mga trabahong kailangan balikan.

Nasa loob siya ng kanyang opisina ngayon at abala siya sa mga papeles na kailangan niyang i-review at pirmahan. Tambak ang trabaho niya dahil dalawang araw din siyang hindi pumasok kaya't wala siyang magagawa kundi ang tapusin lahat ng naiwan niya.

She heard her cellphone ringing and she hurriedly answer it. "Hey baby! How are you doing? Miss me?" She heard him chuckled on the other line.

God I missed his voice and his laugh. She said to herself silently. "I'm quite busy right now. There are lots of papers that I need to check and my head is starting to hurt a little." She said while pouting her lips.

"Take a rest first and close your eyes for a few minutes before you continue your work. Take some pain medication if you really can't take the pain." He said, sounded concern.

"Yes sir!" Teasing him.

"Hmmm, you haven't answer me yet. I'm asking if you miss me, because I am totally missing you so much."

"I can't stop thinking about you, so I guess I am missing you too." She said while smiling.

"That's good to hear. Well, I also can't stop thinking about you. You are like a virus that slowly corrupting my mind until it just shuts down because you invaded the whole system already."

"So I'm a virus huh?! Can't believe you compared me to a virus." She said, making him think she was hurt but the truth is its the other way around.

"Yeah! A beautiful and sexy virus." He said naughtily.

She giggled and she can't help it. This man knows how to make her day. "Aren't you busy now?" She asked in a seductive voice, somehow teasing him.

He groaned before he speak. "You're such a bad bad girl!"

She was grinning from ear to ear. "I'm not.. I'm just asking."

"Yeah right! You're trying to turn me on woman!" He said then laugh a little. "I'll have to punish you again for that"

Her face becomes red, knowing what he meant for 'punishment'.

"Well , are you?" She asked, using again the same seductive voice.

"Fuck it Maple! Will you just stop that? I don't want to have a massive boner while attending the meeting which will start in a few minutes." He snapped on the other line.

"Okay fine. I'll stop." She sniggered.

She heard him sigh. "I got to go now. I'll try to see you later okay?"

She felt excited at the thought of seeing him later. "Okay. I hope so." She ended the call with a smile on her face. Then she heard someone clears their throat purposely to get her attention.

Nang mag-angat siya ng tingin ay nagulat pa siya ng makita ang dalawang kaibigan na nakatayo sa harap niya habang nakataas ang isang kilay.

"Mukha kang timang dyan." Bulalas sa kanya ni Yara. "Ngumingiti mag isa."

"Para kang kinikiliti sa ari ah, kung kiligin wagas eh." Segunda naman ni Nikki na inaasar siya.

Tumirik ang mga mata niya sa mga kaibigan. "Tigilan niyo nga ako." Sabi niya habang inaayos ang mga papeles na nasa harap niya.
