Chapter 26 - Choices. Enjoy!
Aria walked inside, trying to calm her shaking. Rosie was already waiting with a drink, which she accepted. The look Rosie gave her proved she didn't look as relaxed as she intended.
She took a deep breath, before marching over to where Loki was talking to a man quietly. It didn't look too serious, so she felt okay to intrude.
"My apologies" she mentioned, Loki instantly placing his arm around her waist. "But I need to borrow my husband a moment."
The man nodded, as they went off to the edge of the room.
"We made a truce" Aria hissed, glaring at him intently.
"I'm aware" Loki replied, a rare confusion clouding his eyes.
"Yet you would send someone to trick me again?" she accused, before seeing the denial in his eyes. "Didn't you?"
"No" he spat, eyes now clouded with something that certainly wasn't confusion. "Where are they? Take me there now."
Aria quickly led the way to the balcony, which was now deserted.
"Fuck" she breathed, resting her head in her hands.
"What did they say, Aria?" Loki hissed, glaring at her.
"SHIELD agent, they asked where our room was. I refused, I thought it was a trick....i didn't say anything" her voice trailed off, realisation dawning that her chance to escape had been willingly thrown away.
"You told him nothing?" Loki asked sceptically.
"No, I said nothing" her voice grew in anger. "I let him walk away, and refused to answer his question. Refused to help in my own escape because of your mind games."
"You made the right decision. I will have him found" Loki promised, running a hand down her arm. "You did well, little bird. You will be well rewarded."
Aria resting her head in the crook of his shoulder, body sagging with grief at her lose.
"I will end the party shortly, I feel its been successful enough in its intention" Loki told her, feeling her head nod a little before she picked herself up.
"And will we be going straight to sleep?" she asked, not sure if she wanted the answer.
"With you in that dress?" Loki remarked, and Aria just sighed before meeting his lowering head in a kiss, before they returned to the party.
Passing the door, she saw Jason serving a drink to someone, he nodded at her twice, which she returned with a small smile, before continuing on their way.
The last hour was uneventful and much as it had been, before Loki and Aria made their depart. Apparently, it was tradition at these events for the hosts to leave before most of their guests, rather than waiting for everyone to finally bugger off. It was a tradition she was happy to follow as Loki lead them up to their room, slamming the door tiredly behind them.
Aria went to remove her earrings, but Loki stopped her, placing her centre of the bedroom and stepping back. His eyes racked her in, admiring the way the dress slid against her legs, gems accentuated her cleavage but not in a dominating way. Passionate red hair framed pale while skin, causing her hazel eyes to scream out in a calm beauty.
Loki ran a hand through his gelled back hair, roughing it up so a few pieces fell to the sides, before he undid his tie and placed it over the back of the sofa with his jacket.
