Tris's heart leapt a mile. Four made a move. On Christina. He made a move on her room mate and only real friend at her school. What kind of guy was he? He made her feel so special and now, now she wanted to know what happened. The truth was something she would find out, she's find it - and expose it for what it was. Tris just had to get there.

"Tris I'm so sorry!" Christina said, rolling down her face."Tris I can expla-"

Christina was cut off by Tris running out of their dorm and slamming the door. Tris went downstairs to the second floor. She was pretty sure everyone could see the steam coming out of her ears with rage. But on the other hand, Tris was sad too. She really liked Four and thought that he liked her, but maybe Tris was wrong. Maybe Four never liked her. Maybe he was just using her and laughing behind her back the whole time. Maybe. The words weren't certain, but ...

As she ran down the corridors, tears spilled onto Tris' cheeks. She didn't have the heart to wipe them away.

She stood outside of the room she knew belonged to Four. The carpets on the second floor were much much softer than in the attic where she lived. No, Tris thought. Now was not the time to be thinking about the softness of carpets. Now was the time to be thinking about something she never thought would happen so soon.

She curled her hand into a fist and knocked on the door three times. Her knuckles hurt with the quick burst of sheer force put upon them.

After a couple of seconds, the door swung open revealing Four standing in only his boxer shorts. He opened his mouth to speak but Tris began before he had the chance.

"I thought you liked me, which clearly you don't, but don't you think making a move on my freaking room mate and only real friend here was the way to go?!" She screamed.

He stood back, letting her into his room. She walked in, barging past, elbowing him in the chest as she wiped away tears.

"What? What are you talking about, Tris?" Four said, putting on a tshirt and jeans.

"What are you talking about? Where was you last night?" Tris asked, half shouting. He became blurry to her as the tears took over her eyes, spilling from them like a waterfall. He held his hand out to her face to wipe them away but she stepped back, avoiding his touch.

He looked hurt, more than hurt. But Tris wanted him to feel like that because she felt rotten.

"I can see this has hurt you, what ever it is. But I haven't seen Christina in such a long time." Four said, running his fingers through his short hair. His hands stopped, gripping the back of his neck.

"Explain then." Tris said, looking up at him fiercely.

"I have no idea what you're on about. I was doing revision all night last night. Alone." He looked into her eyes, he actually looked sorry.

"Then why would she make such a big deal out of it, if it's not even real?"

"Because she's odd." Four stated, "I think anyways."

Her cheeks were hot and sticky from the tears. Four stepped back into his room and appeared a moment later with some tissues. He handed them to her, for which she was instantly grateful. She must look a mess, Tris thought, her eyes always became swollen when ever she cried.

"Tris please come inside," he beckoned her in and she went. He sat down on his bed and Tris joined him. She stared at her knees, fiddling with the scrunched up tissue still in her hands.

"Tris, I want you to know that I really like you." He started. "Yes, I have only known you just over a week but I can't get you out of my head. So please don't think I'm into anyone else because no one, no one in school, heck, no one in this world makes me feel the way I feel when I am with you." Four said.

She was speechless. No one had ever said anything like that to her. She could feel her cheeks warming up, but this time not with tears, she was blushing, and she embraced it.

"Say something," Four whispered. "Please."

Tris didn't know what she could say to what he had just admitted. But words came eventually.

"I like you too, did you guess that I did, because the second Chris told me I ran here before she could even finish her sentence. And I realised walking here that I don't want you with anyone else, and I've never felt like that before. So I like you, Tobias," he smiled and so did she. "A lot."

He took her hands in his, then shuddered as the wet tissue stuck to his hand. He drew his hand back and threw the tissue straight into his bin on the other side of the room. He made a quiet cheering noise and Tris giggled.

"So where do we go from here?" Four asked, his smile so wide Tris thought his cheeks were going to fall off.

"Urm ..." Tris said smiling. "Another date perhaps?"

"I'd like that a lot." Four said.

Christina sat on her bed. Thoughts raced through her mind like cars on a track. Scheme after scheme so far hadn't, and she was getting to her wits end. But this. This had a chance. This plan should work.

If it didn't, shed have to think of something bigger. Something better. Something so out of the blue that even Christina wouldn't have even thought of herself thinking up something like that.

She took a sip of her coffee, steaming, black and full of sugar. Her tongue stung slightly, but she took comfort in the pain. It was a nice change from being sweet all the time, which really was beginning to become tiring.

This should work.
