It had been about a week since the Grail War officially started. Despite what Rin might think, we knew what was going on. Our father told our mother every detail and she passed it onto me. I only told Rin that our father was going to win and that he'd be fine.

Which was true, his plan was already succeeding. Assassin, Kirei's Servant, attacked our father to deter people from thinking they were working together. Also, in turn, making the other five Master's believe that Assassin was dead. Throughout this past week, I had often worried about my dad. While I tell Rin that he'll be fine, I'm not sure if I'm reassuring myself too, or not.

My lips turned down into a frown as I thought back on the war. Rin and I were walking home from school, something that I personally did not like. I wouldn't mind it typically, we know our way around and we know how to protect ourselves. However, the War started. Who knows who might come after Rin for information on our father? "Jean, do you think father will be alright?"

Rin's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked down at her. Her eyebrows were turned upward, her eyes showing slight sorrow. She was worried, but who wasn't? I nodded, "I'm sure he will be fine, Rin. He's a powerful mage after all!" I gave her a huge smile, attempting to convince her. Whether I was truly trying to convince her or if I was trying to convince me, I'm not totally sure. "Now come on, mom wants us home before dark and that little stop we made didn't exactly help."

Rin was a kind girl, which in turn often made her check up on her friends when they stayed home. Since her friend lived in Fuyuki, we were immediately even more worried. We checked up on her at her house, but they only told us that she was sick.

I brought my jacket closer to my body, the sun had started to go down making the air around us colder than what it was. We weren't going to be home before dark, that was obvious. Rin had started to walk slower, her feet dragging slightly. We both had been walking for the past few hours, while I was use to walking long distances. Rin was not. Her little arms wrapped around herself as she attempted to warm herself up. Her nose started to turn red as we walked closer to home.

I looked around, there didn't seem to be anyone on the streets. Something that I was thankful for for once. I turned towards Rin slightly, calling her name as I stopped walking. She turned to me and I kneeled down, "Rin, get on my back."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want us to get in trouble with mom. What I'm about to do, is a spell you can't do yet," Rin nodded in understanding. She went on my back while I concentrated mana into my legs. "Eriftips."

As the words left my mouth, I started to run. The world around us started to blur, Rin clutching onto me tigther. It hurt slightly, but it wasn't anything I wasn't use to. My eyes went to the sky briefly to guage what time it was. It was roughly 6:10, which meant that I had to hurry. The magic in my body pushed us to go faster than a normal human would. I held onto Rin tightly as not to drop her, my eyes squinted slightly to keep the cold air out of them.

I skidded to a stop in front of the house, almost dropping Rin in the process. "Sorry, Rin."

"It's alright," she mumbled.

I let Rin off my back and we headed up to the door. When we walked in, our mom met us in the entrance. A stern look was on her face, we were a few minutes late but nothing can stop a mom worrying. Her arms were crossed with a frown almost permanently etched onto her features. "Rin, head upstairs to your room, please," my sister looked toward me for a moment before following our mothers orders.

As soon as Rin was out of earshot, my mother started to lecture me. "Jean, what have a told you? You can't just go out late at night anymore, with the Grail War going on-"
