Ch. 9: The Knight Falls

The trio of girls ran into the the partly demolished building, Jean stopped however when she saw a black-haired man not too far from them. She squished herself to the side of the wall so the person could no see her. Seri and Brooke followed her movements, "What's wrong?" Seri asked looking at Jean with a questioning look.

"Kiritsugu Emiya, he's the Master of Saber. He's right around the corner," she answered, looking around the cracked wall to see if she can spot him.  She did, and had seen two more people. One was on the ground not too far from Kiritsugu to the right, he was holding her at gun point. The woman was wearing a white blouse with brown slacks, on the blouse was a red ribbon that matched her short hair almost exactly. Her eyes were closed so you couldn't see what color they were. The other person was sitting a few feet away from the two, he was in a wheelchair his body covered with bandages. The parts of his body that wasn't covered showed pale skin, calculating and scared blue eyes, and slicked black blonde hair. He wore a navy blue scholar coat, and in his bandage hands was a piece of paper. It was hard to tell where she was at, but Jean could faintly see a single Command Seal on his hand.

"There's two Master's, their Servant's shouldn't be too far away," Jean summarised.

"We should help her," Brooke stated, almost immediately Seri and Jean's face turned to a look that said she was crazy.

"May I remind you of what I just said? Two Masters, Servants not too far, which means we gotta go before they kill us!" Jean whisper shouted. Seri smacked her so she could quiet down.

"Jean's right, we have no business dealing with this war, we need to go," Seri stood up to emphasise her point before trying to sneakily leave the place.

"I'm not leaving until I know we can do nothing to save her," Brooke declared, criss-crossing her legs and crossing her arms to prove her point. Jean sighed slightly in annoyance before leaning over the side of the wall again.

"Just wait a second," she replied. "Thgis ecnahe." Once again her eyes glowed a purple tint to show the spell, Jean's sight zeroed in on the piece of parchment in the mans hand. "Thgis esrever," the Tohsaka blinked once which flipped her vision to be able to see the letter on the other side of the paper properly. "It's a self-geis scroll. Says that if he releases the girl, Sola-Ui, then he has to use a Command Seal to make his Servant commit suicide. If the contract is broken, than Emiya can't use any magic again," Jean closed her eyes as the spell wore off. "See? Everything will be fine. There's no way he'll put his fiancé in danger like that."

Brooke frowned slightly before nodding and getting up, "Then let's go," before the two could stop her, she ran straight ahead. Towards what she thought was the exit. Jean and Seri ran after her, trying to tell her to stop before someone knew that they were there. Just as Jean tackled her friend to the ground, was the exact time that they showed themselves in front of the group of Servants and Masters. The Tohsaka got up and breathed heavily before her breath stopped when she realised where she was.

"Umm...guys..." she trailed off, her eyes widening as what had happened was exactly something she was trying to avoid. Before anyone could say anything else or even make a move, blood splattered across the ground. Seri quickly covered Brooke's eyes as she was the only one in the trio who wasn't used to the look of blood. Everyone's eyes widened in surprise at the long red spear that was poking out of Lancer's chest. Blood started to come out of his eyes as some kept coming from his midsection. "We need to get Brooke out of here..." Jean mumbled, Seri silently nodded, making Brooke turn around.

"You desire...you desire the grail so desperately?!" Lancer fell on his knees as Kayneth, Sola-Ui, and Kiritsugu entered the scene. "You have crushed and ruined the honor of a knight, let my blood taint your dreams!"
