"This doesn't work either!"
Jean threw a piece of paper at a wall in frustration, throwing her head in her hands she let out an aggravated sigh. "Are you alright, Master?" Lancer walked in, his eyes holding slight worry as he looked towards his Master.
"No. I've written this spell many times and I'm no where near closer to getting that stupid Grail out of Irisviel than when I started," Jean replied looking up from her hands to stare blankly at the new sheet of paper. 'If I can't get this spell to work then...' her tired eyes looked down at the many books that were open.
"Master, you should rest, you haven't slept since Lady Irisviel disappeared."
Jean shook her head slightly, "I took a nap a few hours ago, I'm fine. I need to focus on getting this done, otherwise we'll have to kill Irisviel and the Grail."
"Master, I don't mean to pry, but...why exactly does she mean so much to you? You've barely known her."
Jean turned around to her Servant, "Well, I know that she has a daughter. I couldn't imagine going through life without my parents and I don't want that little girl to go through it. She may be our enemy, sort of, but she is a mom and just looking at her I know that she is kind," she responded. She turned back around to the mage books, frowning slightly at the blank paper. "Are you sure you don't know anything, Allura?"
"Positive."
"Dang it..." she once again turned towards Lancer, "Have the others called for any updates?"
"No. The last I heard Saber was still patrolling the city and Emiya was at Ryudo Temple to see if the Grail would be summoned there."
"Can you go help Saber track down Irisviel?" She asked, tapping her finger on the table.
"Of course," he turned and disappeared in a blur, leaving Jean to focus on the spell.
She frowned before she started to flip through the books again. "Maybe there was something I was missing in the last incantation..." she mumbled.
"Jean, what do you think are the odds that it was actually Kirei who took her?"
"Very high," she stated, replying to Allura.
"And what are the odds that she would be alive when we get to her? She's been gone for almost 24 hours, no offence but she's probably dead."
"Even if she is, the Einzbern's are probably going to do the same thing they did with Irisviel, which means that this spell will be helpful either way. Besides, I have nothing better to do."
"You can train. Since you know, you're going to be fighting off Gilgamesh and Kirei and I highly doubt that I can maintain your form for that long of a time."
"What do you mean?" Jean looked up from the book slightly, closing it so her full attention could be on the conversation.
"Taking control takes just as much energy out of you as it does out of me. I can only hold onto your form for so long before the control reverses."
"And you didn't tell me this before because?"
"I wasn't expecting us to be in the final battle..."
"Allura!" Jean stood up to make her point, only to remembering that Allura wasn't in the room to begin with. "We need to find out if she's alive."
"Wait, wait, why couldn't you just use a location spell?"
"Because," Jean grabbed onto one of the books and started to flip through pages. "Location spells only work if you're really close to the person. I'm not close to Irisviel as stated before, which means that I can't track her down."
