"Perfect" Birthday

Continued from "Friend"

Lance's POV

Birthdays are suppose to be fun right? Yeah. For me, that's right. I get presents, songs and laughs. When I was back on Earth. Now, it's my birthday in space, I'm still dealing with that stupid transparent thing!

Jeff's birthday is also today and I heard my "space family" talk about giving him a surprise party. What about me? Am I no longer part of this group? Is Jeff now gonna pilot the blue lion???

I was eating and listening in on the Team's conversation and they planned on giving Jeff a birthday party in the training room.

They left and looked for party items around the castle while I went back to my room and started cutting again.

'Where's Jeff?'

After cleaning my wounds, with much focus, Jeff still isn't back. I hear laughs echo through the castle and I walk out my room.

When I walk towards Keith's room, the laughs becomes louder and louder. I put my eye against the door and listen in on what they're saying.

"I mean I know how you feel. Lance is so annoying. " Keith laughed out.

"I'm just so sick of being with him. You know? Like every time I'm with him, he always complains to me. All his problems. And it's all so stupid. It's kinda like: 'oh no, my face mask is ruined, or oh no I didn't get enough beauty sleep.' It's really stupid." Jeff lied to Keith while laughing.

"Typical Lance." I could feel that eye roll from Keith.

I walked away as quickly and as quietly as possible. This turned into a run towards Blue's hanger as soon as I turned a corner.

Blue deactivated her barrier and opened her mouth. I ran inside and cried my eyes out, shouting curses at myself in Spanish.

~little time skip~

After I finished, I wiped my eyes, put on my hood and walked to my room, not bumping into anyone along the way.

When I got to my room, Jeff was there, smiling like a lunatic. I walked past him and went to the bathroom to clean up myself.

"Did you enjoy what you overheard? Keith told me that everyone in the team HATES you." Jeff taunted while I took out my razor.

"Go on~ I hope you aurally do this right, you useless piece of trash." Jeff said, smiling.

I cut and cut and cut. Deeply, into older 'healed' cuts and the new ones. Jeff taunted me as I did this, making me pour out all the tears I kept inside.

"HEY JEFF!! COME HERE FOR A SEC!!" I heard everyone scream through the comas.

"Bye" I quietly said as he floated out the door. What I should have realized was the fact that my legs were permanently transparent and that Jeff was now walking down the hall, footsteps echoing through the castle halls.

I kept myself with negative thoughts, and I became more and more transparent. I got up, grabbed my bayard and went towards the training room.

When I reached the room, I peeked inside and say everyone smiling and giving Jeff a hug, until I realized that they could hug him I looked down and saw that I was mostly transparent.

I floated into the room and no one noticed until I had my gun pointed against my head.

"Lance...put the gun down." Shiro said slowly, trying to persuade me.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING LANCE?!" Pidge yelled angrily, while her eyes was filled with sadness.

"Please Lance! You said you wouldn't do this anymore! LANCE!" Hunk screamed, his voice filled with sorrow and sadness.

"Lance...this must be a joke right? Hehe good one. You got us good. Now put the gun down. You got us. PUT THE GUN DOWN! Please..." Keith ended softly, shocking many, crying.

"I'm sorry. But what you all did, it...it's too much for me to handle. I'm really really sorry." I shortly explained. And then pulled the trigger. The last thing I see, is my 'family' crying, and Jeff's face in anguish.

'I finally did it huh?' Last thought on Lance's mind as he closed his eyes and fell into a internal deep sleep.

3rd POV

After they buried Lance, everyone acted normally during day, but during night, they were dying.

Shiro would continue to command and lead the team, but at night, he would be blaming himself for Lance's death and not realizing that he was part of this team, no this family sooner. He stays awake most of the time because of the nightmares of Lance's death keeps haunting him.

Allura now pilots Blue, she keeps a strong face on and follows Shiro's orders. At night, she would cry her eyes out, screaming into her pillow because she couldn't help Lance. She was suppose to help all the paladins succeed, but she couldn't.

Coran, he barely keeps up his funny act and smiles in the day. At night, he comforts Allura while crying about losing another son. He promised himself that he wouldn't lose his 2nd 'son' but guess he couldn't keep that promise.

Pidge keeps up her geekiness and she continues to hack. She learns more about the galra and learns altaen language. During the night, she stays up way later then she's suppose to and hacks away, silent tears streaming down her face. She thinks about all the ways she could have stopped Lance from committing suicide.

Hunk tried. He tried to get up, smile and continue cooking happily. Sometime, the team would see him break, but then fix it. During the night, it's way worse. He would have panic attacks when he closes his eyes, meaning he couldn't sleep and then he started stress cooking, lead him to hallucinate about Lance telling him to go to sleep. He still wouldn't be able to sleep.

Keith...well trained and trained. Feeling so stupid, not realizing how important Lance is. In the morning, he acted the same, emo and all. At night, he would train and train. Not stopping even when his muscles screamed in pain, not even when he felt his eyes grow heavy. He continued to train. Trying to get rid of the stress. Of course it didn't work.

Basically, everyone is affected negatively by Lance's death and they all blame themselves for his death. Everyone wasn't focused and they started losing their purpose.

In the end, everyone died from an ambush because they were all so so tired. They died, with the last thought 'Lance, we're coming, we hope we can make up all the mistakes we did to you in the past...'

The rebel forces found Voltron, almost destroyed. They brought it back to the base and fixed it as best as they can.

Later on, the lions started working again. When the new owners bonded with the lions, they didn't know that they were also boning with the old paladins.

This lead to victory for the new Voltron. Although Allura and Coran wasn't there to help them, they managed to find out how everything works, with the help of some planets and they had the help the older paladins.
