So I think I went off topic... oops 

Pidge seems a little out of character, OH WELL! For the angst!

Lance's POV

I would say I love fighting alongside my team, but they're too loud. They keep screaming at me and, I don't want to become deaf. I've had this ringing noise in my ears for most of my life, I vaguely remember when it happened.

When I was small, around maybe 4, I was playing on the beach with my family and a bomb dropped into the water. Till this day, I still have no idea why the bomb was dropped into the water.

The explosion was too loud for my ears and since then I've always been hearing the ringing noise. Most of the time on earth, it would be fine, but then when I got to space, I couldn't stand it.

When it was quiet, I heard the ringing noise in the back of my head. While the others were screaming or the alarms were blaring, the ringing got way louder. As it continued, the ringing kept getting louder and louder.

I even tried asking Pidge for some noise canceling headphones, but Pidge said no. In a nasty way too. "Why? So you won't hear what we're saying and jeopardize the missions?" "You already do that tho..."

I really didn't want to end up deaf, but at this rate, I will be.

Suddenly alarms were going off and I instantly covered my ears, trying to block out the sounds. Of course, it didn't work and I ended up being late. Guess what happened next, I was being screamed at to come on time.

I just nod and listen to what they say, hoping they would soon stop yelling. When they stopped, Allura explained the mission and we all went to get ready.

Basically, we had to go and stop the Galra from attacking this planet and we had to do it quickly. It was pretty simple, there wasn't a lot of Galra (a couple fighters and 2 battleships) and not much damage done.

Except to my ears, once again. Shiro kept screaming orders on what to do, Keith was just screaming randomly when he attacked the Galra fighters and Allura was giving coordinates to everyone.

I was also right next to a Galra battleship when they fired up their canon, which is really loud by the way.

I sadly messed up once again, allowing the Galra fighter to get past me and damage the planet. I knew I was gonna get yelled at by Allura and Shiro, so I quickly got rid of it, in case it did even more damage.

So once we defeated the Galra, I took off my helmet so I wouldn't hear my team celebrating and screaming into my ears.

Besides getting yelled at by Shiro and Allura, I no longer had that ringing noise! I almost screamed in happiness but didn't when I saw the lions head back to the castle. I followed quickly behind them and got out of Blue as soon as she landed.

As I walked to the control room, I didn't hear a single thing. I furred my brow and said something out loud, at least I think I did but didn't hear my voice... I realized my ears could no longer handle the noises from space.

Tears slowly run down my face.

I was no longer able to hear the voices of my friends and family,

No longer able to hear their laughter,

I couldn't even hear my own voice anymore.

I slid down the wall that I didn't realize I was leaning on and started to control my tears and hiccups.
