Welcome back to another chapter. This is about another individual that I admire very much in my life. Lets jump right in.
As I have mentioned previously I adore marching band. It allowed me to meet some truly fantastic individuals and make all kinds of new friendships. Something about band brought everyone together... I don't know what it was but I could trust just about everyone in there with me. We were a family and we always had each others backs, no matter who came or who went we looked out for one another. It was as if life had finally given me something positive to look forward to rather than take something from me or make me feel like a monster. Let me explain what I mean by that.
So we are still in my junior year of high school, and back to the band hall for yet another fantastic individual. This person is very funny, charismatic, kind, and just an all around chill guy to be around, but I'm getting ahead of myself allow me to start from the beginning. The band had just finished doing a full run through of the entire show that we were marching that year, and since the directors didn't want to wear us out too much that day, they gave us an extended break, which was fantastic because let me tell you, marching a whole show in one-hundred and six degree whether where humidity is always one hundred percent is no easy task.
Anyways, since they gave us this extended break I figured that I would catch up with old friends and maybe try to make some new friends as well. After catching up with Hailey and meeting Alana I decided to walk around the parking lot and introduce myself to the newer members of the band, the best part about this was getting to see some of the new instruments, because every year as the band got bigger the directors would buy new instruments to improve the bands sound. So while I was walking around the parking lot there was an instrument that caught my attention because it was massive and looked very complicated to play. It was a bari sax, and it looked incredible. I decided to see who was playing this monstrosity of an instrument and his name was Kylin. He was dark brown skinned, and wore glasses. I had no idea that by looking at an instrument I had never seen before, I would meet a great friend.
So, I introduced myself to him and asked what his name was,"Kylin," he said to me. The thing about Kylin is that he was always very chill about everything. Nothing ever seemed to make him angry or make him upset and this is what I adore most about Kylin. He was funny, kind, smart, and just a great person. On top of that he was an incredible bari sax player, but he was a true friend. He made me laugh and smile several times, and he was always there when I needed someone to talk to or rant to. He was like a brother to me because he understood how I felt and what it was like to be someone like me. He never judged me based on what I looked like, he judged me by my character because he knew that was the only thing that counted about someone.
Kylin, if you ever read this I just want you to know that I am extremely proud of you and how far you have come. You are a phenomenal bari sax and individual. You are strong, and incredibly brave. I admire you so much Kylin because you taught me to just go with the flow and have fun while living life. You always knew how to have fun and told some amazing stories. You are the best man, and I know you are going to do big things one day. Never forget all the times we laughed and had fun. And Don't you ever change who you are...not for a split second because who you are is amazing. Thank you for everything you have done for me, and for all the memories.
This brings us to the end of Ch. 33, and one step closer to the end of the line. I will see you all very soon in the next one.
