CHAPTER 3

As I awoke I saw someone sitting by me smiling. I wiped tears off my face and stared at the for a minute or two. "Hi!" He said happily. The boy had black hair that went down to his chin and had blue green eyes."Hey, it's okay I'm not going to kill you or anything..." He said losing the smile "Then why are you here?" I asked calmly. "I was running from the fire and I found this house so I walked in and everything seemed to be in perfect shape, then I found you laying down sleeping." He said "Oh, I still don't know if I can trust you. What is your name?" I said. He looked around for about 3 minutes then responded. "S-Sorry I don't have a name, but you could give me one if you want!" He said with a smile. I looked at him suspiciously. He stood up "Well, I will go if you don't want me to be in your house." He said sadly. I walked up to him and his eyes widened. "What's wrong...?" I asked. He turned me around and there was a fire 10 feet away from us. I grabbed Coco and ran as fast as I could. "WAIT!" The boy yelled as he fell to the ground. "Are you okay?!" I asked as I rushed to him. He nodded and stood up. Then I saw his leg. How did I notice his leg earlier? He noticed me looking at his leg, "I-It's okay, really my leg is great." I picked him up and ran outside, while my house was trapped in flames. I ran with Coco and the nameless boy into the city, a wasteland full of ashes. We sat down at the side of the what used to be highway. "I could have helped you if you told me about your leg..." I said as I pulled he pant leg up, his leg had a wound so deep that I could stick half of my hand in it. I tried to bandage it with grass, but realized that it was not a very good idea. Blood was everywhere. "I will be right back, stay here." I said as I ran into the forest and grabbed a patch of moss. "Here use this on your leg..." He tied the moss with large weeds and we walked farther into the city, with Coco following along.
