You could hear people talking, but you didn't know who. You felt warm, and cozy. "Where am I?" You thought to yourself. When suddenly, you were blinded by white light.
______________________________

You woke up. You were back in the hotel, and you were in your bed. You quickly sat up and looked at the clock, which read 11am. You rubbed your eyes and looked around the room. Lafayette was sleeping in the corner of the room in his makeshift bed, but Thomas wasn't there. You quietly stood up and walked into the bathroom. You looked in the mirror and realized that you weren't wearing your costume, which meant someone had changed your clothes while you were passed out. You were wearing the tank top you had underneath the shirt of your costume, but you had pajama pants on. You thought that one of the guys changing your clothes while you were sleeping was the least of your problems at the moment, and you washed your face.

You rinsed the soap off, and dried your face with a towel. You turned off the light and opened the bathroom door, only to be attacked with a hug from someone tall. You looked up at the person hugging you, and you realized it was Lafayette. You hugged him back. "Mon amie, you have been sleeping for such long time, how are you feeling?" You let go of Lafayette, but he wouldn't let go of you. "I'm fine, Lafayette. What happened?" The door suddenly was slammed open, and you jumped. You looked over Lafayette's shoulder and saw Alex there with tears in his eyes, along with Washington behind him, and the others. Laf would let go of you and moved over to Alex.

"Y/N!!" Alex would yell, jumping on you and hugging you tightly. You almost fell backwards when he did. "Alex, calm down!" You'd yell, as you tried hard to support his weight on you. You finally got all of his weight supported, only to have it all crashing down, literally, when Thomas, John, Herc, and Laf jumped of you two and made a group hug. The boys stood up, and Washington helped you up and hugged you. You hugged him back. You let go of each other, only to get dizzy and fall into Washington. "Maybe you should stay in bed for today..." Washington would say in a worried tone. You nodded, and he helped you lay down. "I'll go make you some mac and cheese!" Thomas would say, running out of the room.

You'd all sit in your room, eating mac and cheese, and telling stories. Lafayette would tell stories about when he lived in France, Washington would tell stories of when he was in the Army, Thomas would tell stories of Virginia, and Alex would tell stories he made up, adventures he thought of.

A few hours later, it was around 9pm. Everyone fell asleep, but you were awake, thinking of your life so far.  The good memories, and all of the bad. Just thinking of your adopting father touching you and doing things to you, it made you cry. You put your face in your pillow and quietly sobbed... "Y/N?" You looked over your shoulder and saw Washington looking at you, worried. "Shit... I thought he was asleep..." you'd think to yourself. You turned away and wiped your tears. "Y/N, what's wrong?" You'd sigh and turn back to him and say "No, no... it's nothing." while rubbing your eyes. "There is no such thing as nothing, Y/N. You cannot see, hear, touch, feel, or smell nothing." You looked down at your hands and sighed. "Come here, Y/N." He'd say, patting the floor next to him. You slumped out of the bed and onto the floor, quietly crawling over to him and sitting down. He wrapped a blanket around you and put an arm around you. "Y/N, you know you're like a daughter to me, right?" You nodded in response. "And you know you can tell me anything, right?" You nodded again, sighing. "So? Why were you crying?" You sighed and started telling him everything about how you were thinking about your real father, and your fake father, and everything you could remember. "Y/N, when the war is over, how about we visit your father?" You nodded. You liked that idea. "And your adopting father?" You jumped and looked at him like he was crazy. "The only way to face your fears, is to confront them headfirst." You sighed and thought about it. "I'll think about it..." you hugged him, and put your head on his shoulder, falling asleep. "Goodnight, Y/N."

You'd wake up the next morning, in your bed. You yawned and stretched, thinking about what Washington said about visiting both of your fathers. You wanted to visit your real one, but you weren't sure about visiting your adopting father. You got out of bed and walked into the kitchen, and saw everyone there eating breakfast. "Morning guys." You'd say, rubbing your eyes. They didn't respond, which confused you. "You guys o-" they all stood up and walked out of the kitchen. You looked at Washington, confused. He just smiled and said "Turn around." Pointing behind you. You started turning around, but almost stumbled down and fell when everyone yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

You regained your balance and looked at the guys. They were each holding out a box. "What are these?" You'd say scanning the items in their hands. "Your presents!" John would say proudly. "They're things you'll need for the war." Herc would say, smiling. Your eyes would light up. "OOOOH! I WANNA SEE!" You'd say while jumping up and down like a little kid in a candy store. "Calm down, Y/N. Sit down." Alex would say, laughing and pointing to a chair. You quickly sat down, looking like a little child. Everyone else sat down as Alex and Washington brought out plates with cupcakes on them. Alex placed a F/F cupcake decorated with F/C buttercream frosting, and a candle. Alex sat down, and Washington came around and lit the candle. He'd mess up your already messy hair, and smile. "Happy birthday, Y/N." He'd say, then he'd sit down at the head of the table. They all sang happy birthday, and you laughed at Herc, as he seemed to be off key, and Lafayette because he only knew it in french, and the look on his face as he was confused was just golden. You blew out your candle and made a wish in your head. "Let me carry on my father's legacy." You'd say in your mind. Everyone started yelling and clapping, and you all ate your cupcakes as if it was the first thing you ate in years. They were pretty damn good. Washington would laugh. Thomas would laugh. "Y/N, you're 17, but you act as if you were 5." You'd jump up and yell "NUH-UH! NO I'M NO- actually..." everyone would burst into laughter.

You opened your gifts, and hugged everyone, thanking them for the gift. Alex got you a quill Pen, ink, a journal, a stamp set that didn't need you to melt wax, etc. Writing stuff, classic Alex. Herc got you a vest, like one the boys would wear, but you couldn't because it'd be too loose, but this one was made to fit women. "And Washington doubted my skills." He'd boast out with a smug look on his face. John got you a hat that looked like one some soldiers would wear, and a little turtle pin to put on the ribbon of the hat, Laf got you a compass, which would definitely be useful considering you'd be running around all the time, Thomas got you a sort of poncho, except it looked like your coat a little. Same blue, white collar, and gold buttons. Washington held up a box to you and said "These are tools, not toys, so be careful with them." You nodded and opened the box. Inside was a Saber with a sheath, and a pistol that looked like everyone else's. You carefully looked at the pistol and Saber, and hugged Washington. You were finally a real soldier.

You'd all get dressed into your costumes, and ride back to the barn where the horses were. You all got your horses, except Washington, who decided to talk to the barn owner more about the reenactment, tacked them up, and rode out into the field. You all decided to practice for when you went into war. Lafayette was the general, and the rest of you were soldiers. You'd all line your horses up and Lafayette would give war plans, and a speech. He was like a real general. He turned his horse around and faced the same way as everyone else, towards the open field. He pulled his Saber out and raised it to the sky. "FOR THE REVOLUTION!" You all copied him. "FOR THE REVOLUTION!" you'd all charge your horses forward. Not going anywhere, just running out in the field. The trees and large field of grass, along with a sunset, it was beautiful.

After about an hour of running around, it was dark. You all headed back to the barn, out your horses away, and drove back to the hotel. You fell asleep on Thomas's shoulder as you all quietly sang "Evelyn, Evelyn". "Goodnight, Y/N. Sweet dreams." Thomas would say, kissing your cheek.
