You all arrived at the beginning of the town. You all got out of the car, and you, Peggy, and Eliza all waited for Angelica while she talked to her father. She finished talking and he drove off. Angelica walked over to you and grabbed your hand, and started pulling you. "Our girls day out, officially begins now!" She'd say pulling you down the sidewalk. Peggy cheered and ran after you, and Eliza caught up.
"So, where are we going first?" You'd say while almost losing a flat that started falling off your foot. You slipped it back on quickly while Angelica pulled you.
"We were invited to a party for reenactment actors and actresses. It'll only be the important others of the revolutionary reenactment, a few people from other reenactments, and some important town council." She'd say while stopping at a crosswalk, you running into her while she stood and waited for the sign to change to "cross".
"I've never really been one for fancy parties..." you'd say while pushing a lock of hair out of your face.
"It'll be fun, don't worry!" Eliza would cheerfully chirp. The sign would change and you'd all cross the street and keep walking, and Angelica eventually let go of your hand. You all arrived at the big fancy building, and walked inside.
"If this is for the important roles actors and actresses, shouldn't your father be here?" You'd say while following after Angelica.
"Yeah, but he had a meeting to go to, so he won't be arriving for another hour or so." Eliza would say while fixing her dress. You'd nod in response, and you'd all walk into a big room full of people. You'd look around at the room, and Angelica would pull you along to a group of people, a woman, and 2 men who all looked to be a part of the city council.
"Y/N, these are our close family friends. This is Mr.Manning, Mr.Smith, and Mrs.Jones." She'd say while pointing to each of them. The tallest one, who was Mr.Manning held out his hand and said "It's a pleasure to meet you, Y/N." You'd shake his hand politely and say "Thank you, sir. It is very nice to meet you as well." with a smile. "Oh, aren't you a gem?" The other man, Mr.Smith would say. "She quite is." Mrs.Jones would say smiling. You'd shake both their hands, and stand quietly while Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy chatted with them.
"So, Y/N? What role do you play in the reenactment?" Mrs.Jones would say, getting your attention.
"Oh, I am the official messenger of General George Washington." You'd say while straightening your posture.
"My, seems quite like a lot of work." You'd hear Mr.Manning say. You'd nod in response.
"Yes it quite is, but it keeps me busy and active during the day."
"Seems like quite dangerous work, going into the redcoat camp everyday." Mr.Smith would add in. Hearing him say that made you remember the previous events. You froze, scared, remembering everything. Your face turned white, as if you've seen a ghost.
"Y-yes, it quite is, dangerous work." You'd say while Eliza put her hand on your shoulder. This made the 3 council workers quite concerned.
"Are you ok, dear? We didn't mean to offend you or anything." Mrs.Jones would say, quite concerned. You couldn't really talk much. You couldn't get yourself to say anything. Luckily, Angelica spoke for you.
"She's had a troubling past few days, lately..." her voice trailing off at the end.
"Oh! We're very sorry..." Mr.Smith would say apologetically.
"It's quite alright." You'd sigh, calming down. "It's not your fault, you didn't know." You'd say while brushing a piece of hair out of your face. They'd all start talking again, and you'd stand there patiently, waiting for someone to talk to you or for Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy to finish up. You suddenly heard someone from behind you boast out loudly;"Well, if it isn't the belle of the ball?"
