"It is a glorious day, my Equalist brothers and sisters. Amon has torn down the tyrannical bending government! He has declared bending illegal, and he has the Avatar on the run! Our great leader has a vision for the future. One day soon, bending will no longer exist and we will live in a world where everyone is finally equal! The United Forces are on their way right now to try to stop that dream, but we will prevail!"

Korra and I exchanged glances before walking away from the rally, cutting though some bushes to have some privacy. She bent a boulder to the side, revealing a hole in the ground, which we jumped into.

I took off the mask of my chi blocker uniform once we were underground and hidden from society.

"Can you believe Hiroshi? 'The Avatar's on the run'. I'm not running from anyone! Let's go back up there and knock some heads! They won't know what hit them."

"Korra, relax. General Iroh's coming with an entire fleet of battleships. Then Amon will be the one who's running."

"I hate this 'being patient' stuff."

"You two were gone awhile," Mako stated once Korra and I got back to the rest of the group.

"We were doing reconnaissance, Mako."

A man popped up in front of the three of them and put his arms around us. "Welcome back! I hope you worked up an appetite cause dinner is served."

"Thanks so much for letting us hide out with you the past few days, Michi."

"Honored to oblige. My associates and I hardly oppose Amon's so called Equalist policies. We got benders and nonbenders living together down here, but do you see us fighting? No, siree. We figured out how to harmoniously coexist."

"You are a wise and noble hobo," Bolin said before putting a spoonful of stew in his mouth. "Mmm, this is the best tasting street gruel I've ever had! Seriously!"

"I called it from the finest dumpsters the city has to offer."

Asami's face went a shade of green when the words came out of Michi's mouth. She then spit the stew back into her bowl and set it on the ground behind her.

"I think I'm gonna go to bed," she said, excusing herself from the meal.

I nodded. "Yeah, it's getting pretty late. I should too."

"Before you do, can we talk?" Bolin asked, putting his bowl on the ground.

"Of course."

Bolin and I walked away from the group to have some privacy.

"Everything okay?" I asked once we stopped walking.

"Yes, everything's fine. It's just that things are getting crazy and dangerous, and I just need you to know that I love you, okay? I really do. Like, I don't even know how I survived without you, Jaya. You fit into my life so perfectly that memories from before I met you seem so long ago. It's crazy to think that just a few months ago, we didn't even know each other. And now look at us. We're in love and battling an insane leader that's trying to take our bending away. I just needed to say that in case something happens while we're out there fighting."

I put my hands on his cheeks, stroking his cheekbones with my thumbs. "Nothing's gonna happen, okay? We're gonna end this war and we'll be able to continue our relationship without any political stress. I love you, alright?"

"Alright."

"Everything's gonna be fine. We're gonna get through this."
