Hannah's POV
A month passed by and Brandon didn't come back. Again, I was hurt. He promised he would come. He never gave me a call.
I refused to go out of my house and depression was on its way of robbing me of good reason. Mr. Collins often paid me a visit and he said my father would go out soon maybe a month or so. A miracle happened. Strangely, the evidence they needed was thrown at their feet.
I was happy to hear that but the pain here in my heart won over any other emotions such as happiness and hope. All because of Brandon.
I also felt some odd changes in my body. I noticed that during early mornings I usually vomited and felt dizzy. I didn't feel like doing anything at all. And I spent hours in bed like a bed-ridden patient.
When the door bell rang, I gingerly left the bed and made my way downstairs. I opened the door and saw Jeremy with a basket of fruits and a bouquet of flower in his hands.
"Hey," He flashed a handsome smile. "Mind if I come in?"
"Not at all." I breathed and held the door wider. He stepped inside and I closed it. I didn't expect him.
"How are you?" He asked as he put his presents on the center table.
"Fine, do sit down." I gestured for the couch and he abide. I sat across him and I fiddled with my fingers, suddenly feeling uneasy as Jeremy examined me closely. I badly wanted him to ask about Brandon but chose no to.
"Haven't seen you in a while. You look pale. Are you sick?"
I met his searching eyes. "Just feeling nauseous sometimes,"
"Did you see a doctor?"
"Not yet. I don't feel like going anywhere. Do you want some drinks?"
"No, thanks." He watched me critically. "You look different." He commented.
I shifted on my seat and smiled.
"Do I look terrible? I'm sorry I haven't taken a bath today and my hair is flying around my face. I know I look like a mess." I brushed a conscious hand on my head.
"No that's not it." Jeremy sat uncomfortably on his seat. "A—are you. .by any chance. . ." He hesitated.
"W—what?" I asked smiling.
"You said you feel dizzy sometimes?"
"Yes and it was even more terrible during mornings. Maybe because I wasn't paying much attention with food. I don't really have any appetite these past few weeks and I lost weight. My jeans are an inch slacker."
"Did you have your period this month?"
"No," I frowned that his questions were getting personal.
Jeremy suddenly stood up.
"Change your clothes. I'll accompany you to a doctor."
"Oh, Jeremy. It's not really necessary. I'm not sick you know." I resisted as he pulled my hand and pushed me towards the stairs.
"Listen to me, okay? You need to see a doctor." His voice was serious and so were his eyes.
"Fine," I agreed after a moment's pause. I climbed the stairs and took a hasty bath, putting on a comfortable jumpsuit. Although I knew there's nothing wrong with my health I relented knowing Jeremy wouldn't let the issue go. I was surprised to see him today but it's nice to see a friend.
