CHAPTER 4.1: ANOTHER CODE TO DECODE?

"Ice."

Nang napagtanto ko kung sino ang nagpadala nito sakin ay agad akong lumabas ng cr. Pero nang makabalik na ko sa mesa namin kanina ay wala na si Ice don. Nang makalapit na ko ay may napansin ako sa lamesa.

It's a note saying:

That's partner in crime solving, rather. I knew you could do it! See you later. :)

Nang mabasa ko iyon ay napatingin ako sa kawalan.

All this time, she's only the one who sent me that code. I've even asked her to help me! Kaya pala alam nya agad ang sagot isang tingin nya lang kasi sya pala ang gumawa!

Partner in crime? Not bad. In fact, it's somewhat nice to hear.

When I got back to the classroom, medyo madami nang tao at dumeretso nalang ako sa assigned seat ko.

Then napansin kong wala pa dun si Ice. Where could she be at this moment? Malapit na mag-time.

So then, I just decided to get myself bored habang hinihintay ang teacher namin.

Nang makarating naman ito ay agad nagsibalikan sa kani-kanilang upuan at nagasitahimikan ang mga kaklase ko at umayos ng upo. What's going on?

"Good afternoon class." bati ng aming gurong may suot na salamin. And take note, mukha itong terror dahil walng nagtatangkang gumawa ng ingay.

"So, since it's our second day of classes, I think it's alright kung magsimula na tayo ng lesson? I'll just gonna introduce you the—" naputol ang sinasabi nya nang bigla naman bukas ang pinto at iniluwa nito si Ice.

"Good afternoon ma'am. Sorry for being late." Ice greeted at dumeretso na sa upuan nya nang walang expression ang mukha.

"Why are you late? And did I say na maupo ka na?" mukhang nabastos naman sya sa ginawa ni Ice.

She just greeted, what's wrong with that?

Ice stood up from her chair and answered. "I'd just have to run some errands, ma'am. Hope you understand."

Napataas naman ang kilay ng aming guro sa kanya.

"Alright. I'll let it pass this time. Sit down," and with that, Ice sat down again. "Class, you know that I really hate late comers, right? And we have a schedule. We should follow it. Dapat before ng time ay nasa room na kayo, aren't you informed? Wag kayo masanay sa ganyan, hinding hindi ko kayo kukunsintihin."

She looked at her lesson plan, I think. Her face looked somewhat angry, I couldn't tell. She turn some pages and talked again. "Those who will be late the next days, maaari kayong pumasok. Yes, you can sign at the attendance sheet. But you can't take any quizzes and seatworks, and you will be marked late. That's will serves as the punishment. Nagkakaintindihan ba tayo?"

The class answered yes and she looked for something in her lesson plan for a while and then started talking again.

"As I said a while ago, I will be introducing the probability to the class. Since you didn't take stats and prob last sem, right? So we will start from the introduction."

She took the marker and write the word 'probability' in the board.

"What comes on your mind when you heard this word?"

A moment of silence dahil walang may balak sumagot. So, I raised my hand. Tinanguan nya ko, giving me a sign na sumagot na ako.

I stood up, "Possibility?" I answered not so sure. Pero ayun ang unang pumasok sa isip ko e, ba't ba?
