Part 1

Nagising si Edward na medyo masakit ang pakiramdam mula ulo hanggang paa.

"Edward! Thank goodness you're awakened." Natutuwang sabi ng kanyang ina.

"Mom?" Pagtatanong ni Edward.

"Pahinga ka muna, anak. Don't move too much. Baka mapaano ka." Pagaalala at pagpapaalala ng kanyang ina.

"Where am I?" Pagtataka niyang tanong.

"You're at the hospital. You met an accident. Thank God you're alive. I was so worried." Pagkasabi ng kanyang ina.

"Why didn't you told us, Edward?" Pagtatanong ni Laura.

"Laura, please call the doctor and tell them that your brother woke up already." Pakiusap nito sa kanyang anak.

"Right away, Mom." Pagsunod nito sa kanyang ina. "Get some rest, little brother." Pagpapaalala nito sa kapatid sabay halik sa noo.

At tuluyan ng lumabas si Laura sa pintuan ng kwarto upang tawagin ang Doctor.

"Mom?" Pagtawag ni Edward sa kanyang ina?

"Yes, my dear? How are you feeling now?" Sagot ng kanyang ina.

"I just felt a bit dizzy. I'm sorry if I got into an accident." Pagdispensa nito sa kanyang ina.

"You could have told me earlier what you've been through. I'm sorry if I was there with you at your worst times. I was so close to you, yet I didn't know what's happening. I'm sorry for your suffering. I'm sorry, my dear. If only I was beside you on your tough times, these might not happened." Sagot ng kanyang ina.

"It was all my fault, Mom. If only I..."

"No, Edward. You just did what you think is good for the both of you. Don't think too much. Just have some rest for a while. I know you're tired.." Sagot ng kanyang ina.

"Thank you, Mom!" Sagot ni Edward.

Nabalot ng katahimikan ang silid.

"Mom, I noticed something. If we are at the hospital, why is it so dark here?" Pagtataka ng binata.

Walang naisagot ang kanyang ina. Sinubukan nitong itago ang pag-iyak ngunit kahit na sa maliit na hikbi nito ay narinig pa din siya ni Edward.

"Why are you crying, Mom? Is there a power interruption? If there is, why is the air conditioning unit working?" Pagtatanong muli ni Edward.

Nang biglang pumasok ang doctor.
