Synthetic

A synthetic species is one that was created by a pre-existing lifeform from available materials as opposed to being born from biological reproduction or metaphysical forces. They are composed of inorganic or synthesized materials but also display most of the qualities of other lifeforms and have a sapient level of free thought and will. As such they are considered living creatures in most of Kaf's global culture and governing bodies.

Synthetics are composed mainly of inorganic substances. Some will obtain new material by replacing parts of their body with newly created ones. Others are lithotrophs that have to ingest outside sources of the inorganic material they are made of. These beings are capable of producing more magic power than they absorb from the environment. Synthetics don't require sleep although overworking themselves beyond the point they are used to will lead to exhaustion that proper rest and sleep would take care off. In fact many common ailments that affect organic beings like nausea, aren't felt by synthetics, though they be vulnerable to magic that affects objects to an extent.

Anthroids

Anthroids are living artificial beings, created by the scientists of the Ancient Lunar Civilization, who are unique from other magical constructs in that their sentience comes not from a bound spirit, but rather from complex processes carried out by their nanobot components. They are often humanoid in appearance, composed of a constructed materials such as metals, wiring, plastics, circuitry, gels and other intricate works of machinery.

Anthroids weren't heard of until far after the last Ghulat War, suspected to arrive from the destroyed civilization on the moon. Originally they had a variety of machine like forms and were ostracized by most races. A few like the Hauflins sought them for their ability to work and thus cultural exchange began with newer generations becoming more like the hominin species in appearance and functionality.  The Anthroids helped rebuild civilization and basically spurred industrialization and advanced technology and artifices into mainstream Kaf.

A/N: Hello again, Anthroids are the race that makes it clear this setting has a fantasy sci fi vibe. While most are humanoid in shape, there will also be more mechanical and virtual anthroids as well.
