Artifices are objects with enough magic power to be used for magical effects. Some objects innately store large amounts of magic power (natural artifices) or are deliberately be charged with external magic, an act called consecration (crafted artifices). In modernity, artifices have become an increasingly useful subset of technology, especially within the higher income nations. In these places, there are occupations for those who make artifices called artificers.

Now there are countless artifices out there, some even I don't know and even more new ones being made everyday so instead I will just go over the most commonly used or known ones, though some might be new to you!

Gemstones store a portion of nature's abundant magic power within themsleves as they are formed. The longer they are formed, the more power they have from the start. The more precious a gem is usually means that is a type with extraordinary power. Many gems can also be consecrated for various purposes such as storing spell effects or to power another artifice.

An amulet is an object whose most important characteristic is the power ascribed to it to protect its owner from danger or harm. The amulet has innate magical power and can be used for generic purposes such as averting evil or attracting good luck.

A talisman is an object that provides a specific and active power or protection that must be charged with magic power by a creator. It is this act of consecration that gives the talisman its magical powers.

A charm satchel is a small leather bag with whole or ground gemstones saturated with mana. They project an invisible magical field where in any inanimate object can move under its own power. How long they last depends on the last charge of mana and the amount/type of gemstone used.

A flying carpet, is a transportation artifice wherein a carpet is consecrated to be capable of flight, or instant movement of passengers from one place to another for the high end ones. Flying carpets were orginally introduced by Djinn in the Masriq region of Dinahalli.

A flying besom, is an old fashioned transportation artifice consisting of a besom that is consecrated to be capable of flight and a single rider can fit. Mundane besoms were used for cleaning before witches created versions capable of flight. Most operate from the users mana but some are made with their own source of magic propulsion.

A wand is a thin, hand-held stick or rod made of wood, stone, ivory, or metals like gold or silver. They are consecrated in order to serve as a focus to concentrate power in spells or a handheld source of mana. There are some wands preloaded with specific spells, for practice or ease of use.

Grimoires are books of magic, typically including instructions on how to create magical objects like talismans, how to perform magical spells, charms and divination, or how to summon or invoke spirits. They can also be vessels consecrated with magic power from nature itself, and their incantations manipulate this power to the magician's will. Like mundane books, they can take the form of a tome, scrolls, paper talismans, leaves on a string, strips tied together, or an e-reader.

Scepters are staves that have a different role from those used in stick fighting and martial combat. They are handheld tools used for channeling supportive and healing magic moreso than offensive means. The use them in society is strongly associated with divine faith and many scepter users are religious acolytes and clergy. However it is not a strict requirement as even secular mages have the capacity to use a staff. The magic of healing scepters work by supplementing and enhancing the natural ability of living bodies to regenerate when wounded, drastically speeding up the healing process. Support scepters are typically used to channel magic that buffs allies or weaken enemies.

Potions are liquid solutions typically meant to produce a magical effect. Most are ingested into the body although the effects are usually the same even if a potion is absorbed through the skin. They were originally created to make recovery a faster process and thus most potions are made to recover something a person is deficient in. However there are also potions made for other reasons like luck, love, etc.

A/N: How here is something that has a great amount of personal appeal, magical objects and technology. While some fiction keeps the two seperate, I much prefer the possibilities of them merged. While "magitech" is a nice term that gets the idea across well, I spent sometime to look for a different term. Plus the word sounds like artifact which really fits with the lore, of how the world remakes civilization. Like my character said, there are plenty of artifices planned than this, just all in good time.
