Rumors spread like wildfires,
Multiplying like flies,
Yet everybody believes them,
Everybody's believing the lies.
They started out small,
Nobody really noticed her at first,
Just speaking in hushed voices,
Rumors spread like wildfires.
As each day crawled along slowly,
She began to hear them louder,
The faces in her mind began to grow,
Multiplying like flies.
Regardless of the truth,
They continued to speak,
As if she wasn't there -
Yet everybody believes them.
She began to cry out for help,
Screaming and pounding on sound-proof glass -
"I'm okay,"
Everybody's believing the lies.
