Sometimes when I'm alone,
I think of you.
I think of the way you held me
When I was scared.
I think of the way you kissed me
When I was lonely.
I think of the way you hugged me
When I was cold.
But then the darkness sets in,
And I think of you.
I think of the way you hurt me
When I was already hurting.
I think of the way you kicked me
When I was laying on the ground.
I think of the way you deserted me
When I was slowly bleeding out.
I met someone new,
Someone worthwhile.
He continues to hold me
When I get scared.
He continues to kiss me
When I feel lonely.
He continues to hug me
When I get cold.
And now the light's shining through,
I finally see the good in the world.
He doesn't hurt me
Even though I continue to hurt.
He doesn't kick me
But I'm still laying on the ground.
He doesn't desert me
But I'm still bleeding out.
