"We still haven't received any replies from the agents we sent out."
"Understandably so as we have just sent them out 2 hours ago, Eirlys.
I am calling you to help me with something."
[Definitely not something good.]
"No, it is not something bad."
[Did I put everything on may face again?]
"Yes, you did."
[He can say he is a mind reader and no one will doubt it at this rate.]
"Eirlys, it doesn't take a mind reader to read you.
One just has to know you."
[Eirlys don't misunderstand, stop beating my stupid heart. (You would have died then, stupid.) But why did he have to smile so charmingly? He can't read me, he can't.]
"I will be honored to help you, my lord."
"You don't have to be honored to help me.
You are bound to help as I am your employer."
[It's just a polite way of answering. Do you have to be this difficult?]
"King Leonard invited me to gamble with him."
[Don't smile expectantly at me! I won't offer to help!]
"Have a nice time, my lord."
"You see, Eirlys, King Leonard recently did something that I might not be partial to."
[Translation: King Leonard did something stupid and defied your orders. And you wanted to kill him.]
"Killing him will be a bit too extreme, Eirlys.
It's just a trivial matter.
And it's hard to murder a king nowadays."
[Then why don't you forgive him and we move on?]
"But nevertheless, I am displeased with him.
So I'm going to give him a little lesson, let him experience my annoyance."
[Childish much? But his smile seems safe. So he is definitely not going to murder the King, thank goodness! ]
"Stop worrying, I am not going to murder him.
Am I that stupid?"
[So you aren't denying the fact that you are evil?]
"No, my lord.
You are definitely not stupid.
Such words would never be used to describe you."
[I will use evil, psychopathic and villainous.]
"Glad to know that.
You are going with me to the game."
"Surely that's not a place for a lowly assistant like me?"
"Do you think I care?"
[You don't, but I do! Cheating in front of the King? Beat the King by cheating? I don't dare do that even if you do!]
"No, my lord.
But certainly your superior intelligence will allow you to beat the King easily?"
"Absolutely.
But I don't want to devout my intelligence on mere and trivial things like this.
Your power alone is more than enough."
[I have an absolutely useless power. I am able to see the future... to be exact 5 seconds into the future. I can see whether Astor's reply is 'Yes' or 'No' and that's about it. I can seldom stop things from happening. It takes approximately 2 second to look into the future, so I have 3 seconds left. There is nothing you can do but accept your inevitable future. Or tip him off in games of card and dices (as my lord is so kind as to discover the appropriate use of my power for me).]
"But the King..."
"He will not notice a thing.
He does not even know you have a power.
And he is so stupid that even if an elephant flies in front of him, he will not notice a thing. Why do you think I chose him?"
[A stupid king is a good puppet, Eirlys. He will do all my bidding. That's what he told me when he plotted to keep Prince Lucien off the throne. And my power is so useless, it is not even worth mentioning. But then I have to socialize with the court ladies.]
"I know you don't like chitchatting with those ladies in court.
Do you want an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert or do I have to ...?"
"I'd like an extra scoop of chocolate ice cream, my lord."
"That's my Eirlys."

Hi everyone! So what do you think of Eirlys' power? She herself thinks it's pretty useless XD The 'farm girl' gets overwhelming response in chapter 1. We'll know more about her in the next chapter ;P
