[y/n's POV]

you made your way to a cafe nearby the meeting place and heaved a sigh. you walked into the cafe just to be greeted by a cute barista. "how can i help you today?" he asks shyly. "one ice americano please." you smiled. "can i get your name?" "kim y/n" "it would be a total of 2,000 won please. thank you!" he smiled as you handed him the cash and grabbed your drink.

you sat at the inner-most corner of the cafe and heaved yet another sigh. "how could you forget me joshua." tears started rolling down your cheeks as you start to remember the past.

"y/n!! i have such great news for you!!" joshua said excitedly. "what is it?" "im leaving for korea, to train as an idol!!" he smiled happily. your heart broke a little when you heard those words but at the same time you felt so happy for joshua. "oh my god!! thats amazing josh, i'm so proud of you!" you hugged him tightly. "this has been your dream since forever, being proud of you is an understatement!" you hugged him tighter. "im leaving tomorrow though" his face fell. "hey, hey dont be sad! you're finally achieving your dreams!" you tried lightening up the mood. "just promise me one thing josh." you said slowly. "what is it? id promise you anything y/n." he raised his pinky. you grabbed a hold of it and rest you thumb against his. "promise me, that you'll never forget of me." hi swiped his thumb together with yours and nodded. " although it would be impossible for me to forget you, i promise."

"looks like those were nothing but broken promises" you thought as you looked down onto your coffee sadly, wiping your tears. suddenly you felt a presence sitting infront of you. that person slid a penny across the table. "penny for your thought?" he smiled. it was the cute barista who tended to you earlier. "save it." you laughed lightly, drying your eyes. "hey, its okay if you dont wanna tell me. im not forcing you." he chuckled. "im hyuk" he smiled. you slipped out a chuckle. "im y/n, y/n kim. here are my thoughts for your penny" and so you told him what happened.

"im no good in past relationships, but you should just tell him, maybe.. remind him?" he gave out his idea. "i dont know hyuk.. im just scared for the outcome." you sighed. he grabbed your hands "hey dont be! i have faith in you. heres my number, call me tomorrow if it doesn't work out. ill treat you to coffee~" he cooed. "i have to get back to my shift now. all the best!" he stretched out his arms and gave out a friendly hug. "goodluck!" he says as again, as he runs back behind the counter.

{timeskip}

day 2 of the fan-meeting came by. you didn't want to waste your ticket so you gave it to someone else. while you were in the line passing your tickets and gifts to a carat that was nice and willing to help you, a security came up behind you. "kim y/n?" you turned around so suddenly almost stumbling on yourself when a carat helped you stand still. "yes?" you reply nervously. "someone wants to see you." the man stated.

you followed the security until you reached backstage via the back door. you were intimidated, who would send a security just to meet you and how did the person know where you were. your train of thoughts stopped when you felt someone holding your wrist. you shivered and look up. "y/n. i need you to come with me." you started getting even more confused. "seungcheol stop!" you said. "im not going for the meet today." he came to a halt. "excuse me? why?" he stared at you upset. "aw seungcheol, its nothing. i just cannot bare the pain seeing someone who was so close to me and promise me not to forget me, forgot about me." you sighed and seungcheol pulled you into a hug.

he stroked your hair and you cried into his chest. the boy then removed himself off of you and someone hugged you once more, without looking up you hugged him back, thinking it was still seungcheol trying to calm you. "shh y/n. please stop crying." the voice seemed all too familiar for you and you quickly tried to pull away but his grip was too strong. you cried even more and started hitting his chest. "how could you do this to me josh. you promised me." you kept on hitting him, weakly. "im sorry y/n. i really am. i never forgot about you. i just didnt want to believe myself it was you." he stroked your hair lightly. you fell to the ground and immediately sobbed into your knees.

"y/n. im sorry. please stop crying." he pleaded you, voice holding back tears as well. "you broke our promise josh. you always do this." you stood up trying to walk away but you see seungcheol in a distance mouthing 'no'. joshua softly grabbed your wrist, and pulled you back into his embrace. "im sorry i was never that one friend who kept promises, im sorry i kept breaking our promises. im sorry because of me we had to cut ties. although one thing im not sorry of is this" he then quickly placed his lips on yours. his action shocked you and you couldn't process what was happening. joshua then pulled away. "i should've known you didn't like me back" and he slowly released you from his touch.

you then quickly pulled him by his wrist and place your lips on his. "who said i didn't return your feelings?" a light smirk forming on your lips. "say, im not forgiving you just like that" you pulled away and walked away. soon enough you feel an arm snake around your shoulders "where do you think you're going, babe." he says, pouting. "im leaving you, im going to go see my friend hyuk." you say cheekily. "hyuk? who is he?" joshuas pout getting deeper. "my new bestfriend, i know wont break promises." you pulled away and started walking towards the exit when joshua backhugs you tightly not letting you leave. "im not allowing you to see him. youre mine." you scoffed "since when?" a smirk raises up your lips. he then starts pouting again and intertwine your fingers with his. "lets go, i promised him something." you quickly dragged josh to the cafe you were at yesterday.

"hyuk!!" you yelled out and hugged him. josh just stood there in annoyance. you both whispered and giggled something making joshua frown. "excuse me, im still here you know." joshua sighs out loud. "oh right, hyuk meet joshua, joshua meet hyuk." you said happily. hyuk stretched out his hand to give joshua a shake but joshua was jealous. "he's so jealous sometimes it annoys me." you rolled your eyes playfully. "joshua, hyuk was the reason i came back today. i would've just left if he didnt come talk to me about it." joshuas eye glistened. he shyly rub the nape of his neck and shook hyuks hand. "thank you" he says. "youre one lucky man joshua." then all three of you burst out laughing.
