Avengers Academy (Stony)

Part 2: Pepper

I woke up and squinted at my watch. I knew we had to be in the hall by 9am for a speech by Fury, who was the Head of the school. It was probably just going to be an introduction speech or whatever. It was now 8:45am and neither of us were at all ready. Tony had the blanket half way down his chest and I felt weird just staring at him in his sleep. Oh how everything about him was so perfect. "Tony!" I said loudly and he slowly opened his eyes and glared at me.

"Why would you wake me up?" hissed Tony and he pulled the covers over his head. 

"Tony we have assembly in 15minutes. We have to be there," I said and I heard him sigh. He slowly pulled the covers off and he was now just standing there in just his shorts. "S-So... yeah I'll see you there."

"Wait! Wait for me," said Tony and he started to do up his shirt and he put on some jeans. "I don't know where I'm going!"

"I don't know either," I said as we walked down the corridors together. "Just follow that big group of people." We joined the back of a group walking into the hall and all of a sudden, Tony hit me really hard in the arm and pointed at the girl with red hair in front of us. 

"That's the one I was telling you about!" he whispered excitedly. He tapped her on the shoulder and grinned. "Hey," he said confidently. She giggled and I rolled my eyes.

"Hi," she said. "I'm Pepper!" He put his hand around her back and walked next to her. He looked back at me and winked and I shook my head at him. We all walked into the hall and there was benches all set out in front of a podium. I saw a seat on the bench next to Bucky and I ran down and sat next to him and he looked really happy to see me again.

"Steve!" said Bucky. "Look at all of the girls! I'm gonna get us both dates tonight." If only I could tell him I didn't like girls at all. 

"Ha yes!" I said. All heads slowly turned as Fury entered the room. His long, buttoned, black jacket was nearly touching the floor as he stood there in the entrance of the hall. His leather eye-patch gave me a scary kind of vibe. He slowly dragged his heavy boots across the room and to the podium where he took out a piece of paper from his pocket and laid it out. The hall was silent. 

I looked at Bucky out of the corner of my eye and I could see him looking around trying to pick out girls. I turned around to find Tony whispering in the girl's ear and she was giggling with him loudly. Bucky tapped my arm gently as Fury was about to talk.

"You're all here for the first time," he said and then he paused. "This is new organisation. Avengers Academy; for SHIELD recruits, trainees and of course the Avengers. I don't have much to say here apart from follow the arrows to your classes and stick to the timetables. Don't be late." Just as everyone was getting up leave he coughed into the microphone so we all stopped. "I need to talk to Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Thor, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner, Vision, Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker." I looked at Tony and he looked back at me and shrugged his shoulders. We all walked down to the front of the hall and Tony pulled on my coat.

"Hey Steven, her name's Pepper," said Tony.

"Silence Stark!" snapped Fury. "I didn't bring you here to talk." As Fury looked away I saw a smirk on his face. "I kept you all behind for a reason. You're all here together. You're a team we've assembled. Each and everyone of you for different reasons. The Avengers. Work together, do well and you'll have a job saving the world. Don't let me down." 

He turned his back and quickly headed towards the exit. We all sat in silence for a minute and then a small kid jumped up. "HI! I'm Peter!" he squealed. "I'm Spider-Man."

"Hey! I saw you on TV!" said the girl I think was Wanda. We all went round and  started to introduce ourselves. 

After we were all done I started to walk back to the dorms with Tony. "Hey. What times do lessons start?" asked Tony.

"10. We have over an hour," I said. "So what did you think about our new group?"

"Yeah, it's cool. We're special," said Tony grinning. The second we got into our dorm he got out his phone and jumped on the bed. "Pepper gave me her number. We're gonna meet today."

"Oh... cool," I said and I sat down slowly on my bed. "So... have you dated... any guys before?"

"Yeah! Tons," said Tony. "You should've seen me in Middle School." I laughed nervously and I put my head down on my pillow. "Hey, maybe I could ask Pepper if she has any friends."

"W-What? No," I said stuttering. "B-Bucky said he'll do it... but thanks." He looked at me weirdly. 

"Come on. You don't just need the one Bucky helps you get," said Tony. "Let me help."

"No, I'm good. I... I just don't want more than one," I said sternly. 

"But-"

"No!" I snapped. He rolled his eyes and turned his back on me. I took my time table from the side and I left the room to go to Bucky's. I knocked on the door and I could hear Bucky's footsteps coming towards the door. He let me in and Peter was sitting there happily listening to music by himself. 

"What's up with you?" asked Bucky. "You seem kind of mad."

"What? No I'm fine," I said and I sat down on Bucky's bed. 

"Okay... so there's two girls across the hall and I asked them to come out with us. One of them is called Gemma and the other one's called Kailey. I want Gemma! She has an English accent," said Bucky. "I didn't actually see Kailey." I sighed. I just want a guy. 

"Lessons start in an hour right?" I asked. 

"Yeah, it's 9 now. What's your first class?" asked Bucky. 

"I have engineering. I don't know why I'd need that but cool," I said. "What do you have?"

"History. I was talking to Peter over there and apparently it's about SHIELD and HYDRA's history," said Bucky. "Hey Peter!" He quickly chucked off his headphones and looked at us.

"Hi Steve!" said Peter. "Remember me?"

"Yes of course!" I said. "Anyway, I should get going." I walked across the hall to get back to my dorm, Pepper was standing in the doorway clearly talking to Tony. I might as well just go and walk. Alone.
