Chapter 4: Smirks are Quirks

"What's wrong Kitty? You look ready to step on a baby." Cade frowned as I dropped down onto the bench beside him.

"I am." I groaned and ran a hand through my hair.

"That's not good. I think stepping on babies is frowned on." He patted my shoulder and I laughed.

"Well, you are correct there, Cade, Baby." I leaned forward and placed my elbows on my knees. Semis was being an extra bitchy pain in my ass today.

"Then we should go watch a movie! We could watch one of those scary ones you like."  Cade suggested with a grin. He was already attempting to pull me from where I sat.

I knew I needed to refind that ass of a demon and get rid of him. If he killed one more of my workers and ate their soul I might just destroy the friggin' world. I was going to deny the kid in front of me but when I looked up all I saw was his innocent excitement and-

I groaned internally.

"Alright, but after that I have important work I need to do, okay?" I stood up and brushed off the front of my pants.

"Okay!" He was practically jumping up and down as we made our way to my car. "I can get candy?"

"Yes, yes, I'll get you candy." I laughed as I stuck the key in the ignition and started up the car," Seatbelt."

After letting out a groan Cade pulled the seatbelt over him and clicked it into place. "Play that band you like."

"Slipknot?" I asked incredulously,"Are you sure?"

"Yesss, I like it." He grinned, his eyes shown with excitement.

And so the way to the cinema was filled with Slipknot and Cade trying to scream along to some parts, which was quite entertaining I may add.

"Candy for you." I handed him a pack of twizzlers. "You su-"

I was cut off by Cade grabbing my arm. "Kitty, do you feel that?"

"Feel what?" I asked as his grip tightened and he pulled his feet from the ground and onto the chair.

There was a loud boom as the movie started and only seconds later Semis was sitting beside me.

Cue irritated groan.

"Why the hell are you here?" I growled. Of course this would be the time he decided to show up.

"Because I felt like gracing this pathetic society with my awesome presence?" The demon raised a brow, a smirk plastered on his ugly face.

"Oh what joy." I grinned sarcastically as I pulled out my phone and dialed Lila's number. "Hey, yeah, I need you to come pick up Cade and see that he gets home safe. A horned problem has popped up and I need to get rid of it."

"Oh, easy fix, cut of the horns." Semis leaned back against the theatre chair with ease.

"You are the horned problem, you idiot." I growled as I placed my phone back into my pocket.

"Awe! What's the occasion? Such compliments." He grinned cheekily at me.

I felt my anger rising at his stupid remarks and I wasn't sure I was going be able to keep my cool much longer. I glanced over to Cade who was watching us with a furrowed brow.

"Oh, aren't you that kid from before?" Semis had followed my gaze. "What's your name, babe?"

"C-Cade." He choked out, his grip on me was like steel.

"Now you decide to talk quietly?" I scrunched up my face in disgust. I wanted to rip his head off.

"Of course, he's like a bug, wouldn't wanna scare him off." He laughed loudly, causing a few heads to turn and a lot of 'shhhhh's.

I could feel my true form fighting to break out and claw the ass demon beside me to shreds. Without warning I stood up and latched my hand around his arm, my nails digging into his skin as I dragged him out of the building. 

"Awe, Luci, at least buy me dinner first." The demon smirked as a shoved him against the back wall of the building.

"Shut the hell up before I make you into a sandwich." I growled, I could feel my skin heating up and my fangs extending.

"Ooo, I'd like a double cheeseburger, plain, with the cheese perfectly in the middle to keep up with my flawless image."

The demon's smirk grew in pride at his comeback, fangs gleaming in the sun.

That was it. That bitch was going down.
