"-And then she told me that if I kept tipping her desk over I was going to have detention for another two days!" The kid raised his arms in exasperation.
He had been talking nonstop from the beginning of the walk to now which was at least a good fifteen minutes. At first I wanted to rip his head off and forget about my plan of getting him into my bed but then I noticed the way his entire face lit up when he talked about certain things or the way his lips formed a cute little frown when things didn't go his way.
"Oh really?" I questioned, half listening. I'm the devil I shouldn't be walking this kid home just to sleep with him. I don't have time for it, but...
"Yes." His lips formed a small pout, "And Dan wouldn't tell her it was actually him doing it. He let me take the blame!"
"That's quite unfair."
"Yeah it is- this is my house." We stopped outside of a small brick house with a small porch that lead to a red door. I went to say goodbye but was cut off by the small boy pulling on my wrist.
"You can't leave just yet. I want my mom to meet my hero in black."
Considering there was no way he could actually pull me I let him believe he could and let him drag me into his home. "Mom, mom! I'm home."
A young lady who looked to be around her early thirties walked from the kitchen to greet her child. Her light brown hair falling out of a loose ponytail. She looked nothing like her son, her eyes were kind and caring, a dark brown unlike her son's who were always sparkling and were green. Her nose was more rounded than the boy's, too.
"Who is this young fellow you have brought with you, Cade?" She asked, her voice gentle.
"He's my hero in black!" The boy, Cade, exclaimed.
"And what do you mean by that?" His mom asked curiously.
"He saved me from a guy when I was in the alleyway. The guy had horns!" Cade placed his fingers on top of his head to mimic horns.
His mom looked over at me. "You saved my son?"
"Yes." I answered. Technically I did but it wasn't on purpose, but whatever works.
"Thank you so much." She rushed over to me and to avoid direct contact, hugging, I held out my hand. She took ahold of it with both of her hands and shook it.
"It was nothing." I brushed off her gratitude.
"Cade!" She quickly turn her attention back to her son, "What have I told you about walking down alleyways?"
"Not to do it, especially at night." He said quietly.
"Then why on earth were you doing the exact opposite?" His mother exclaimed, raising her hands in the air.
"I thought it would be faster." Cade said quietly.
"Well it wasn't." His mother snapped and I just wanted to leave. I had souls to torture and demons to command. Getting Cade to fall for me could take a couple days anyways.
"This was a very delightful meeting." I stated as I headed toward the door.
"Hello!" I'm stopped inches from the door by a small child. She looked to be around six with blond hair pulled into pigtails. "Who are you?""He's my hero." Cade answered and walked over to pull her away from the door.
"He's leaving?" She asked looking from me to Cade with a sad look.
He kneeled down in front of her, "Yes but you can see him another time, okay?"
"Pinky promise?" She held out her pinky finger and he latched his onto hers.
"Let's meet up again." I grined at Cade as he waved goodbye to me after pulling away from the child.
I took the chance to open the door and slip out of the house. I hadn't interacted with a human, other than in a sexual way, in over three hundred years. It was very tiring to say the least. It was going to take a bit of time to get Cade where I wanted him. He seemed almost completely unaffected by my incredibly good looking body, which was weird. Basically no one could resist my hot bod and sexy face so it was peculiar that the boy Cade did it so easily.
"Where is he?" Lila asked with furrowed eyebrows as I slid into the back seat of my car.
"Cade?" I asked, confused.
"Who the hell is Cade? Semis, where is he? You know the demon you left hell just to catch." Lila looked at me through the mirror.
Semis... Semis! Dammit. I had completely forgotten about the stupid demon once Cade's cute little self caught my attention.
"Uh..." I cleared my throat, "he got away." Was all I said.
"What do you mean 'he got away?'" Lila turned from her spot in the seat to look at me.
"I mean I grabbed him by the horns and he used his little disappearing trick on me." I growled, rolling my eyes.
"Okay then why did it take you so long then?" Damn, what's with all the questions, I just wanted to eat some sad depressed souls.
"Semis was messing with this kid so I walked him home in order to get into his pants." I shrugged and looked out the window.
"Oh, and how did that go?" She asked with a smirk. How does she always seem to know things I haven't told her?
"The kid didn't even look twice at my gorgeous body." I huffed, "It's like he's immune to my seduction charm."
"Maybe he's too young." She suggested as she pulled onto the road and began to drive.
"He is eighteen. He isn't too young." I grumbled under my breath. I didn't even think there was an age limit, maybe there was.
"So are you going to keep trying?" She asked after a moment of silence.
I thought about it, no I didn't. I wanted him so of course I was going to try again. "Satan don't do 'giving up'."
