The Moment I Knew || GD

part 24

*eight years later*

As I stare out of our apartment to see the city over the beach as I hear Beckham yell for me.

I rush into the dark green living room to find Grayson and five year old Beckham standing behind a huge box.

Beckham runs up to me and pulls my arm toward the box

"Look mom! It's for you!" Beckham says as he tries to push the box to me.

"Woah! Let me help, little dude!" Grayson giggles.

"I'm not little, daddy!" Beck tells Grayson with his hands on his hips.

"Okay! Whatever you say, big dude!" Grayson says as he rubs his hand through Becks brown hair.

"This is for you!" Grayson says with a smile.

"Happy mothers day!" They both tell me.

I open the box to find a picture book of all the pictures the family has taken since we've moved to California. 

I spot one that had me and Grayson hugging at the hospital when Beckham was born. Then another of us bringing Beck home.

I begin to cry as I hug Grayson. 

"Hope you like it!" He adds. "There's a card too!"

I find a card at the bottom of the box. I open it and find a picture of Grayson and Beck holding the picture book in front of the beach- my favorite spot.

"We couldn't find anything good enough for you, so I hope this works!" Written inside.

"You're already an amazing wife!" Grayson's handwriting said.

"and an amazing mommy!" Becks kindergarten handwriting said.

I cry even more and gather the two in for a huge family hug.

"Wait! There's more!" Beck yells out.

He brings over a Starbucks cup and a doughnut.

"You know, sharing is caring, mom!"

I laugh as I break part of the doughnut off and hand some to Beck.

Grayson stares at me with his cute little smirk he still had since I met him. 

"Mad, I still love you!" Grayson says.

"I love you too, Grayson Dolan!" I finish as I kiss him.
