Ben wouldn't let Rey go. Literally. She ran around the base, trying to avoid his grasp, but it was futile. He was faster and stronger, and anytime she managed to escape him he had her in her arms again within seconds.
"Ben!" Rey said, half laughing, half crying. "Let go of me. People are going to see and wonder what I'm doing."
"Then let them see. I'm tired of hiding whenever I'm with you." He smirked. "Besides, I just found out how ticklish you are. You can't expect me to let you go that easily."
"Ben!" She fought back peals of laughter. "There are people around. Stop it!"
"I know. That makes this so much funnier."
"Rey?"
She instantly froze, and even Ben stopped messing with her. He kept an hand on her, though, as she turned to see who said her name. Poe looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Were you talking to someone?"
Rey gave a nervous laugh. "No, just myself. I tend to do that sometimes. Sorry."
Poe smiled. "I'm not judging. It's been a while since we've gotten to really talk, though."
"How unfortunate," Ben muttered.
Rey carried on as if she hadn't heard him. "Well with Leia always sending one of us off on missions there hasn't been any time."
"Are you free this evening? I know a great restaurant you'd absolutely love."
"That sounds like fun. I can't wait."
Tensions seemed to leave Poe as he smiled, nodding excitedly. "Great! I'll see you then."
Rey turned back around to face Ben whose eyes were narrowed dangerously. He looked down at her and said incredulously, "You just agreed to go on a date with that pilot."
Rey sighed. "That pilot has a name. And it's not a date. We're just going to get dinner."
"Sure sounds like a date."
"We're friends. Why can't we hang out without it being a date?"
"You may think it's not, but he thinks it's a date."
Rey scoffed, "You don't know Poe. How could you know what he thinks?"
"I know how guys think. It's a date."
"Is not."
"Is too." Ben raised an eyebrow. "How do think this date would go if he knew how often you talked to me? A man he's tried to kill several times."
Rey rolled her eyes. "Oh don't play innocent. You've interrogated him and tried to kill him just as much as he's tried to kill you."
"That didn't answer the question."
"Well it's not a date so it doesn't matter."
"We'll see." Ben paused, looking over his shoulder. "I'm needed. I have to go."
"Ben, wait -"
But he was already gone. Rey sighed. She hated when the Force did that. Now all she had to do was sit around and wait for her not-date with Poe.

Rose burst into Rey's room later that day with a wide smile on her face, interrupting Rey's reading. She looked up from her book expectantly.
"You're going on a date with Poe!" the other girl gushed.
Rey groaned as she stood up from her bed. "Why does everyone say that?"
