Finding The Way Back to You

Chapter 7- The Switch

                                                                                Sam/Reign

After I check on Kara, Ruby and I go home. When Alex called to check up on me, she couldn't hide the fear in her voice. I bugged her until she told me what was the matter. I figured Ruby could come along as long as she thought that we were just going to see Supergirl. Alex told me everything and kept apologizing for keeping it from me, but it just made me like her more. The fact that she was trying to keep me and Ruby safe, that she cared enough for us. She's amazing.

I put Ruby to bed and get some wine out. With the day I've had, I think I deserve it. I turn on the news and sit on my couch ready to just relax. On the TV, some woman is talking about how Supergirl still hasn't returned when I get this dizzy feeling. I recognize it and I try to reach for my phone, hoping to contact Alex before I black out. I'm too late.

Reign

I pull on my suit, glad to finally be let out. I can't wait till I've taken over the human completely. She's getting weaker and I'm able to take over more often. I take off and look for any criminals. I scoff at the thought of how criminals are handled. They are just locked up, allowed to live when so many victims didn't get that chance. All criminals deserve to die. I spot a car chase and I fly towards it. I land right in the path of the criminal's van and when they hit me, they go flying. After the van crashes, I walk towards it, taking my time. I love the feeling of power I get over them. They can't do anything to stop me.

I get to the van and I rip the door off. I grab the man wearing a black mask. I rip it off of him and he closes his eyes in fear. 

"No," I yell. "I will not allow you to cower in fear. I want to see the look in your eyes as I drain the life out of you." I start choking him with one hand and force his eyes open with my other one. When he's finally dead, I drop him and turn towards the cops. There's about 20 of them with their guns pointed at me.

"See this. This is what criminals deserve. This is what you should be doing to them, instead of locking them up. They shouldn't be allowed to live. Since you can't do your job, I guess I have to do it for you." With that I take off into the sky, grinning. I'm using my super hearing to listen for any more crimes when I hear a little girl.

"Mom," it's Ruby, the human's daughter. "Where are you. I'm scared." I can feel myself flickering out.

Sam

Where am I? Am I flying? I suddenly start to fall when I hear a voice in my head. Let me take over and you won't die.

Without realizing it, I let go, hoping that this voice is right.

Reign 

I take hold again and curse myself for letting the human take over again. Luckily, I was able to convince her to let me take over. I fly toward the Fortress of Sanctuary. It's time to wake the other world killers and take down Supergirl once and for all.
