                                                                        Alex

After the wedding, we all head to the reception which is taking place at the DEO. My mom, Eliza, is already there. She was to one to plan the reception. We get there and I look around for Mon-El and Kara. I spot them talking to Eliza and I take Sam's hand, leading us over to them.

"Hey Mom," I say. "Congratulations Kara and Mon-El."

"Thanks," Kara says. She changed out of her wedding dress and is wearing a pink dress that goes to her knees and is so bright, I feel like I might go blind just by looking at it. She has her arm wrapped around Mon-El's waist and he's smiling down at her like she's all that he sees. I'm so happy that she found someone. I remember how lonely and sad she felt when she came to Earth. I was so mean to her, but now we're closer than ever.

"Hey, guys,"Winn says coming up to stand beside Kara. He turns on the TV. "Check this out."

We all look up and I can see Cat Grant sitting down on a tan chair, smiling.

"Most of you know that I used to work at Catco media and for the last few years I worked there, I had an amazing assistant. She later chose to be a reporter and I left Catco. She is the best person that I have ever met and it hurts me that I couldn't be at her wedding today. I just wanted to say congratulations, Kara." Wow. She actually called her by her actual name. From what Kara told me, her name to Cat was Kierra. Kara is crying and I smile, glad that Kara has so many people who love her. She was able to continue to be a reporter because the damages weren't permanent and she was able to read again.

"That was really nice of her,"Mon-El says. Kara nods.

"Yeah,"Sam says. "From what I heard, she could be a total-"

"Jerk,"I interrupt.

"I was going to say witch,"Sam says and that gets us all laughing.

"Hey, Mon-El?" I say. "Can I talk to you for a second?" He nods and we go off into a corner. Kara keeps glancing worriedly at us.

"Is this the, hurt her and I'll kill you, talk?" Mon-El laughs.

"No. I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you. You came through for Kara. You didn't see how she was when you left. I thought that was going to be the thing to completely break her. You came back though and chose her. She's so happy with you and I want to thank you for that."

"She makes me happy too. Thank you for helping Kara through that time."

"Your welcome,"I say as Mon-El starts to head back over to Kara. "Oh and Mon-El? If you hurt her, I will kill you." He laughs but I can see the fear in his eyes because he knows that I'm serious.

"I wouldn't dream of it," he walks over to Kara, kissing her on the cheek. I smile as I watch them and suddenly Sam is next to me.

"Hey, what did you have to tell Mon-El?" she asks. I shrug.

"I just had to thank him." She nods in understanding.

"They look happy," Sam says. "I wish we were that happy."

I turn toward her, worried that I did something wrong. "What do you mean?"

"I just mean that I wish that we were like that."

"What? Married?" She nods and I gasp.

"Are you saying.."

"Yeah. I want to marry you," Sam says. She pulls out a ring. "I mean, if you'll take me?"

"Are you kidding," I yell, aware of people looking at us now. "Of course I'll marry you!" We kiss and I practically drag her over to Kara.

"Guess what?" I ask. Kara shrugs and glances at my hand, seeing the ring and catching on. Her eyes widen.

"Are you serious?" She screams. She hugs me and squeezes, making it to where I can't breathe.

"Kara, loosen up a bit," I struggle to say.

"Sorry, I'm just so excited." Lena walks over.

"What are we screaming about?" she asks. When I tell her, she's screaming too. Sam leaves to go talk to Ruby to make sure that she'll  be okay with it. My phone starts buzzing in my pocket and I pull it out. It's Maggie. Why would she be calling? I excuse myself and I go into the lab.

"Hello," I answer.

"Hey Alex," Maggie says.

"How are you?" I ask. Hearing her voice causes an old ache to rise up in my chest, but it's not as bad as it used to be. Sam and Kara have helped me a lot.

"I'm good. What about you?" I tell her the same and I hear her take a deep breath.

"I called because I heard about Kara getting married and I just wanted to say congratulations."

"I'll be sure to pass it on."

"I also wanted to tell you that I'm dating someone. I don't know why, but I felt like I had to. I know we left things bad between us."

"It's okay Maggie, I'm happy for you."

"Really?"

"Yeah. In fact, I'm getting married." She gasps.

"Wow. That's amazing," she says and I can hear that she's sincere.

"Yeah, she has a kid that I adore and I've been dating her for about a year."

"That's great. I'm glad that you found someone that makes you happy."

"You too. I have to go since it's Kara's wedding reception and I'm getting dirty looks from her. Probably because I promised not to have my phone out."

"Alright. Goodbye, Alex."

"Goodbye Maggie," I hang up and I walk over to Kara.

"Maggie says congratulations," I tell her. Kara wraps me in a hug,

"Are you okay?" she asks. I look over at Sam who's hugging a very excited Ruby. Turning back to Kara, I think about how much that we've all been through and how we survived by having each other.

"Yeah,"I say. "I'm okay."
