Chapter 3- Fake Kara

"Hey James," I call as I walk into his office. He asks me what up. I try to clear my thoughts from James and I kissing so that I can talk without stuttering.

"I was just wondering if you happen to know where Kara is." A look of panic crosses his face before disappearing so fast I don't know whether it was real or not.

"Oh, she.. umm.. has the flu. Yes! She has the flu. Really bad, so I wouldn't recommend going over there." I frown. Why is he acting so weird?

"Well, i'm just going to see how she's doing." He nods and I step out of the office. I'm almost to the elevator when I realize that I left my bag. When I get to his office, James is on the phone, his back turned toward me. I falter, wondering if I should go in or not. When I hear the name John, I decide to eavesdrop. Childish of me, I know. But what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

"John, I need a favor. I need you to pose as Kara because Lena is headed over there now. She thinks that she has the flu. Thank you and hurry!" Whose John? And how is he going to pretend to be Kara without me figuring it out? Most importantly, where is Kara?

When I get to the apartment I pause, taking a deep breath. It's time to figure out why Kara is isn't here and why their trying cover it up? I knock and hear Kara's voice telling me to come in. That's weird. I thought somebody was going to pose as Kara.

I walk in and find Kara on the edge of her couch reading a book that I have never seen her show any interests to. What the hell is going on?

"Hey Kara. How are you feeling?"

"I'm good." That's all she says leaving a very awkward silence between us. That has never happened with us?

"I know you're not feeling well, but I want to tell you something." I am about to test Kara. If she has a weird reaction to this, it's not her.

"Hit me." I am almost 100 percent certain that this isn't her. I don't know how though? I shouldn't be to surprised if it isn't her though. I mean, I live in a world with aliens. It couldn't get much weirder than that.

"Well, James and I kissed. I hope this doesn't change anything. Just say the word and I won't see him." Kara instantly starts squirming, obviously uncomfortable. This definitely isn't Kara.

"Well, good for you." I stand up and try to tower over whoever this is as best as I can.

"Who are you? And don't say Kara because I know that you aren't her. Are you John?" The fake Kara's eyes widen. 

"Crap," is all she says. 

"Where is Kara? What have you done to her?" Fake Kara puts her hand up.

"Calm down. I'll explain. This really should be Kara's choice, but there's no other option. Lena, how much do you know about Supergirl?" 

"What does that have to do with anything?" She glares at me. "Okay, calm down. I know that Supergirl protects the city and that she's an alien. That's about it."

She nods. "Do you have any idea who she really is?" I shake my head.

"Don't freak out Lena, but Kara..Kara is Supergirl." I stare at him for a second and then burst out laughing. 

"You have to be kidding me?" I instantly stop laughing when I see how serious she is.

"Then who are you?" I ask but instantly regret it. Suddenly fake Kara is not fake Kara anymore, but a green man.

"You're the Green Martian, aren't you?" He nods. I sit down and think. It suddenly hits me. All the times Kara had to suddenly go or when she was gone for a while. She really is Supergirl. Did she not tell me because i'm a Luthor? That can't be it. I know Kara better than that. She was the first person to accept me for who I am. 

"Okay. So Kara is Supergirl. I can handle that. Where is Kara?" I could swear that John's eyes teared up for a second, but I can't be sure.

"Come with me. I'll take you to her." He wraps his arm around my waist and we take off.
