The Afterglow

Chapter One

It was her birthday, 01st of November. Katherine Green was her name and she was the last person that anyone thought of seeing at an award ceremony for any math related subject. But that was the day she saw him. He was seated among the silver medalists and she was in the bronze medallists' section at the Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad Medal Ceremony.

It was hate at first sight.

His frowning brows and pouty face annoyed her. He looked arrogant and selfish. "The King of Eccentricity" was the first image she had of him. Despite her resentment, she was determined to find out his name - but she could find only his surname, after undergoing a great ordeal. So the haughty guy's surname was found.

This all happened in 2013 and it has been three years now. Kate never had the slightest idea of falling for him. But things were yet to be known then, as appearances are deceptive. She had heard the words, but her future was going to let her have the first hand experience.

Behind the curtains, Destiny and Love giggled at their marvellous plan for Kate.
