Lance's POV
The terrifying darkness is all around me. Nothing in front of me can be seen, not even my own hand that is centimeters away from my face. The darkness is closing in on me, consuming me, causing me to get more and more terrified every step I take.
A horrible bone chattering laugh is very close behind me and it sends a painful chill up my spine, but that doesn't keep me from running. My heart is racing at a rapid pace and it almost makes me collapse. Sweat is rolling down my forehead and tears are beginning to roll down my cheeks like a waterfall.
Time is slowly going by until whatever is chasing me grabs my arm, "No! Let go of me!" I scream as I struggle to get my arm free. The grip on my wrist just keeps getting tighter and tighter, starting to cut off my circulation in my arm.
Another dreadful laugh escapes the monster holding me and more tears begin to fall down my face, "I've got control over you now, McClain!" It says as it begins to come closer to me.
I wail and scream at the monster again, demanding it to let me go. "Let go! Let go!" I continue to scream and struggle against the monster, but every time I do, it just laughs and mocks me. My anger is beginning to build up and all my fright and pain is being pushed back.
"I'm going to kill you!" It shouts. "There will be no more Lance McClain when I'm done with him!" It threatens.
Then suddenly the fright and pain instantly comes back and begins to come out in cries for help, "Please stop! Leave me alone! Help!" I had finally lose it.
"Lance! Wake up, man! Please!" Keith yells while shaking my shoulders.
I bolt up in my bed. My forehead and body is drenched with sweat and sharp pants escaping me and start to make me feel light headed. I tightly grasp my messed up bedsheets, trying to get control of my breathing.
"Lance, are you ok?" Keith asks with a severely concerned look on his face.
"I...I don't know," I am still in shock from what I have just seen in my sleep.
"Lance, you have been having these nightmares for awhile now and it's really been worrying the rest of the team," Keith explains as he put a gentle hand on my shoulder.
"I'm fine, Mullet. Quit trying to baby me," I grumble as I shrug Keith's hands off of me.
"Lance, you have been like this for week's now-" Keith is shortly cut off as I shout at him out of strange anger.
"Keith, leave me the quiznack alone! You're also trying to get on me, but I don't need your-" I then halt from finishing what I was going to say. I look into Keith's eyes and noticed the worry and sadness he is unshamfully showing.
"Keith... I... I'm sorry. I-" Keith puts his hand up to silence me. He then walks over and wraps his strong arms around me.
"Shhhh... calm down, Cargo Pilot," He soothes as he rubs my back. My sharp and painful panting begin to tone down as Keith continues to whisper to me.
I bury my head into his shoulder, "It's ok, Lance. I'm here. You're safe now." Keith continues to whisper soothing words into my ear.
His grip gets tighter around me as he notices I begin to relax a little. Keith finally tucks me back under my covers. Another terrifying nightmare doesn't plague my mind after that, but my horrible visions are far from over.
