Lance's POV

Darkness envelopes every bit of my vision, making it hard for me to tell if I'm blind-folded or unconscious. The pain in my head is now coursing through every part of my body which makes bit hard for me to move, or think for the most part.

I slowly open my eyes, but I rapidly close them again firmly due to a horribly bright light shining that seems to be two centimeters away from my eyes.

I hear a faint muffled voice, but it soon becomes more clear as I pull up the courage to open my eyes and concentrate on what I'm hearing. Once my eyes are completely open, I search every inch of the area I am in. I keep searching around the room until I realize I was on a table in the medical bay. It is painfully silent except the beeping and uproarious humming of Pidge's computer monitor.

I pull myself up on my elbows and do my very best to ignore the sharp pains that keep coming to my head. It doesn't take me long to realize that I am connected to a bunch of wires and cords, and I also have an IV placed in both of my arms and some weird wires on my head.

"What the heck is all this stuff?" I ask the air as I tug on different wires to figure out where they are connected. I then shove my hand to my sweating forehead and clench my teeth together in pain.

I groan, "hmmm, m'head hurts."

"L-Lance? You're awake! How's your head?" A female's voice says, sounding confused and excited all at once. She stands up and throws herself at me with joy.

"Easy there brainiac! I'm fine. If there was anything wrong with me, you or Coran would be the first to know," I stare up at her with a smile.

Pidge lays her hand on my shoulder and pulls me into a tight embrace. "Goodness, Lance. You gave me twelve heart attacks! You've been out for nearly two days and you scared the quiznack out of all of us."

Pidge pulls away from me, gently gripping my shoulders and staring into my half-open eyes.

"You were screaming extremely loud and alarmed the entire castle. Once we were able to reach you, you were blacked out on the floor and you started to have an awful seizure that lasted almost five minutes. I'm truly surprised such a hard and long attack didn't," her voice gets softer and sad. "Kill you..."

I immediately throw my head up and stare into her tired brown eyes. I truly wasn't expecting death to almost come upon me like that.

"I had...a s-seizure?"

The green paladin sadly stares back into my wide shocked eyes and slowly nods her head in response.

I gradually lower my head from Pidge's intense gaze with a continuous wide-eyed stare to the floor. A long silence travels through the bay, but is soon is broken by my stressed friend saying something that nearly puts me into an panic attack.

"Th... Then you said... you said-" Pidge immediately closed her mouth to block the rest of her words out then backs up into a chair and props her head in her hands.

The scary and feared tone that Pidge had in her voice panics me and causes me to gently cup her face in my hands and stare intensely back into her eyes.

"Pidge, s'wrong? What did I say?Please... tell me!" I beg sounds pitiful.

I don't like the thought of hurting my team.

Pidge doesn't respond back to my pleading, only simply shakes her head in her trembling hands. It is clear that Pidge has been stressing about something for a long time now. The look on her face obviously shows that she hasn't slept in the two days I was out. Her breathing is rather slow and her body is slumped in an exhausted form as she hangs her head.

"Pidge?" I ask in a confused tone.

No response is given back to me which gives me the idea that the small girl has actually fallen asleep.

"Pidge! Don't fall asleep on me! I need answers! You can sleep right after you tell me! I promise!" I call her.

She throws her head around the room looking confused, "hmm? Did you say something to me?" Her response is weak and stale.

I quickly swing my legs over the table and struggle to get my footing. I still have the wires and IVs connected to my arms and head which makes it hard to stand without messing something up, but my sleepy teammate isn't but one foot away from me.

Once I stand up and coordinate myself to stay on my feet, I rush over to the overly exhausted teen. I waste no time as I automatically pick her up in my arms and set her gently into my lap and wrap the blanket from the table I was laying on earlier firmly around her thin body.

Pidge instantly wraps her arms around my neck as she gets more comfortable in my lap.

"I'm worried about you. I just want you to be okay... 'cause it pains me to see you like this." She whispers.

I raise my head a bit to look into Pidge's chocolate brown eyes and give her a soothing smile. "You don't need ta worry. As long as I know you and the team are okay, then I'm perfectly fine."

A small snore is spread across the castle. I pop my eyes open a bit wider in surprise and shoot my head up and find out that the brainiac has finally fallen asleep.

A soothing smile spreads across my face for now; I know she is finally sleeping. I stay silent and rock back and forth to put Pidge more in a relaxing slumber. She has always been like the little sister I've never had. She's one of my best friends.
