Keith's POV

I gaze into Lance's blood colored eyes in horror while a massive wave of confusion washes over me. I continue to stare into Lance's eyes, clearly I have no idea what to do.

I realize that there are tears forming and quickly falling from Lance's demon - looking eyes. Lance slowly raises his head up to look directly in my eyes.

There is a horrifying smile plastered on Lance's that gradually forms into a scared frown as he slowly brings his hands and mouthes the words, "help me, please."

My eyes widen and I immediately shoot my hands out to grasps Lance's, which are firmly gripping the Cuban's head.

"Lance, what's happening? Can you... what's wrong?"

"K-Keith?" Lance whispers, his eyes glancing up at me.

I rub my fingers over Lance's knuckles, "I'm right here. What's going on, buddy?"

Lance takes his hands away from mine and reaches over to my trembling shoulders, "K-Keith... pl...ease. You gotta lemme g-go. Please, k-kill me. Everything... it hurts," Lance's pleads struggle out.

I rapidly shake my head, "no, no, no! What are you saying, Lance? You are not going anywhere! And I'm definitely not going to kill you!" I swallow the remaining spit in my mouth. "T-There's just something wrong at the moment, b-but we're going to fix it and-"

I get cut off by Lance's sudden screaming, "stop! Stop the noise! Hurts!"

"Lance!"

With that, I swoop Lance into my embrace and sprint toward the medical bay.

Pidge is working on a experiment on the floor while Coran is polishing up some tools.

"Coran, Pidge! You have to help Lance! Something's wrong with him again!"

The alien and the green paladin stare at me with a look of confusion, but don't take long to coordinate the situation. Coran shoots from his chair he was resting in and runs to me and Lance's lax form.

The odd color from Lance's eyes have finally disappeared, but are now sadly replaced with the crystal signs of fear and pain.

The blue paladin's form suddenly tightens up and he lets out a loud scream once again, "n-no! Please! Please, stop it now! Stop the noise! Stop the screaming! It's so loud and i-it hurts too much!"

I am truly panicking by what Lance explains while he screams. I start to blame myself for not being able to help from his suffering.

I feel a strong grip on my shoulder. I turn my head to find Shiro beside me with a look of sympathy, "Keith, Lance needs you to be there for him. You did the right thing bringing Lance here right away. Now just be here for him." Shiro gives a half - smile.

I smile back, but our short moment is interrupted by Lance's shouts.

"Make it stop!"

I run over to a table to set Lance down with Coran and the others following.

"No, no! Stop! Let me go! Someone help me!" Lance has his eyes completely open with panic as he thrashes around in the air.

"Lance, my boy. Shhh..." Coran soothes as he gently strokes Lance's cheek while he avoids his kicking legs. "You have to calm down."

Lance continues to throw his legs around, but he is now glaring half - mindedly into the older man's eyes.

"There you go, my boy. Keep looking into my eyes. It's okay. No one here is going to lay a hurtful hand on you. I... I'll stop the noise for you, okay?" Coran keeps stroking Lance's face and whisper soothing words into his ear.

Lance's thrashing has finally subsided and managed to calm himself down almost completely.

"C-Cor-Coran... i... it... hurt...s"

"Shhh. No more talking. You're going to be okay," Coran coos as he uses one hand to wipe away the sweat the formed on Lance's forehead.

I grab one of Lance's hands to help Coran calm him down. Lance's breathing is hard and labored while he tried to mumble words to himself which bring concerned looks from all around the room.

"The sc-screaming... won't s-stop."

We all stare into deeply into Lance's saddened eyes.

"Hush now, Paladin. It's okay. Everything will be alright. I promise you." A female's voice sniffs.

I look over to find Allura with tears in her eyes.

I hear heavy footsteps that make its way to the entrance.

"What happened to Lance this time?" Hunk asks, sounding frantic.

"He had a panic attack. I feel like there is something else is wrong with him. I've been observing Lance since these weird episodes have been happening and I've notice that he usually just wakes up screaming from nightmares, but him screaming and having a fit like this is more new," Pidge explains.

"Hmmm, Pidge, would you like to help me do some research on Lance to figure out what is wrong with him?"

Pidge nods with a serious frown on her face.

"Alright, good luck guys," Shiro past Pidge on the back. "Everyone else... lets leave them to it."

Allura, Hunk, Shiro, and I walk out of the bay to the hallway.

Allura sighs, "we need to find out what is wrong with our friend."
