Ride or Die

I sat in a classroom with my friend Pixie, another serpent. We sat on top of the desk as we watched random youtube videos. We both could hear yelling from the outside but thought it was some fight until Johnny ran into the classroom. He looked like he just ran 6 miles and was struggling with forming sentences properly.

"What's wrong, Johnny?" I asked the younger serpent

"Raid," Johnny said after catching his breath "Mayor McCoy is raiding-" He was interrupted by the door being slammed open by cops

Pixie and I stood up from the desk but before we could do anything they grabbed us and put our hands behind our backs. I started thrashing around to get them to loosen up.

"We didn't do shit" Pixie yelled, "Let us go, will you?!"

"Don't touch the merchandise, Buddy!" I yelled before being slammed into a set of lockers as the officer told me to shut up

Around us were countless other serpents who were being cuffed and thrown around. As we were being walked through the halls I saw Sweet Pea had been slammed into a locker just like I was moments ago. Our eyes met and it seemed to just cause Sweet Pea to get even angrier since he started yelling about letting me go and not touching me.

It wasn't the first time we've been arrested but seeing the other cuffed was hell to the both of us. Pixie and I were placed in the cop car where Pixie had relaxed from her little outburst back inside. We took a drive to the station where we were placed in a holding cell with some other serpents, Sweet Pea, Fangs and Toni being some of them. The minute we stepped into the cell, I sat beside them as Sweet Pea wrapping his arm around me.

"So what're we accused of doing now?" Pixie asked sitting beside Fangs and some other serpents

"What aren't we being accused of?" Fangs said with a glare towards the ground

"They think we're selling drugs," Toni says as Sweet Pea rolls his eyes

"Selling drugs are what ghoulies do," Sweet Pea said tightening his grip on me at the mention of the ghoulies

"These Northsiders can't tell the difference between Serpents and Ghoulies," I said exaggerating the Northsider part

We stayed in those holding cells for a couple hours before we were released. 

"I guess we're not drug dealers, after all?" I joked with Fangs as the four of us (Toni, Fangs, Sweet Pea and I) lounged around the quarry

"Babydoll!" I heard Malachai said as I walked my way back home since Sweet Pea stayed to play some pool

"This is Serpent territory, Malachai" I responded looking up at the ghoulie leader

"For now" was his replay "The Serpent Prince bet on the White Wyrm and Sunnyside Trailer Park in a race"

"Jughead did what?" I asked narrowing my eyes before backing up a bit when he got closer

"Didn't know you were deaf too, Bitch" Malachai replied "When we win we're taking control of Serpent territory" before he walked away

Instead of going inside, I texted Jughead where he was and I hopped into my Harley and before driving to the Auto Shop. When I got there, I saw Betty and Jughead fixing up some car. They were talking but I only caught the last bit about the race.

"So Malachai wasn't just being an asshole?!" I said walking up to the pair with my fists clenched "The hell were you thinking?"

"Why were you talking with Malachai?" Jughead questioned

"We use to be a thing before I became a serpent," I said quickly "Answer the question, Jughead"

"It's either that or we fold for the Ghoulies, BabyDoll" Jughead answered

"Those Ghoulies have been rivals with Serpents for years and I don't want to ever be involved with them again," I said just remembering it was difficult  "So you better win this damn race, Forsythe Jones"

"Let's do it" Tall Boy yelled as Serpents, Ghoulies, and even some Northsiders sat out waiting for the race to begin

I stayed close to Sweet Pea and as far away as Malachai as I could. But no matter how far I was, Malachai saw me and gave me a sarcastic smile. Which Sweet Pea saw causing him to pull me closer to him as we sat on his bike.

We listened to Jughead give out the instructions on the race. Over Herk Harvey Bridge to Dead Man's Curve and the first one back wins. I laughed as I noticed Toni walking back to us as a redhead stood in her place.

"You usually do the honors, Cha-Cha," I said teasingly with a smile using the name the blossom girl did

Toni shrugged and hit me playfully before sitting behind us on her bike. And with the Blossom girl's signal, they were off. Once they were out of view we played the waiting game.

"Sweet Pea you don't have to hold onto me so tightly," I said leaning my head against his chest smiling, taking off my sunglasses

"I just won't ever understand why you were even with him" Sweet Pea responded resting his chin on my head, "He's a..."

"He's a misogynistic asshole who only cares for himself?" I asked turning around to look at him and cupping his face "I know, Sweet Pea, I know. I was a stupid little kid who wanted to be loved by someone outside the Serpents and I looked for it in the wrong place"

Then all of a sudden a ghoulie ran up getting everyone's attention, "Everyone scatter! Cops are rounding up ghoulies" He yelled as Jughead and Andrews drove up

"You called the cops? You won't throw in with the Ghoulies, but you will with cops?" Tall Boy said going up to Jughead "Where's the honor in that?"

"Calm down, Tall Boy" Jughead putting his hands up, "You think I knew Keller would be there?"

"I called Keller" Andrews interrupted

"What the hell, Archie?" Jughead said "Did my dad tell you about this, too"

"No, this was my idea to get rid of the Ghoulies." Archie reasoned "It worked. They get arrested for racing, they're off the chessboard"

"For how long? One month? Three months? You know what they'll want on the other side?" Jughead asked angrily "Your head on a stake! All of ours!"

The next day got even more interesting, since Sweet Pea and I decided to skip school we missed the sugarman being arrested and it was none other than Robert Philips our English lit teacher.
