"People of Riverdale, I have rid this town of the drug dealing child-killer and others like him. Now, must choose your fate. The next 48 hours will be a test. And I will be watching you very closely" Sweet Pea read from the newspaper as I tried falling back to sleep"Show me you are pure of heart, and my work ends. Continue to sin, and I will take up the sword again."

"Pure of heart? No one is pure of heart, especially from Riverdale" I said burying deeper into the blanket as Sweet Pea put the paper away and laid beside me "Perfection doesn't exist and he's sick to think it does."

"If perfection doesn't exist then how do you exist?" Sweet Pea asked me wrapping his arms around my waist pulling me close

"We all got flaws, Sweets," I said resting my head on top of his chest hearing his heartbeat "Like how you got some serious anger problems"

"Oh, and you don't?" He asked me teasingly

"Not as bad as you," I said "It was you who went all the way to the Northside just to get payback on carrot top, not me"

We were skipping school again for the hundredth time. But what was the point anyway? Half the time not even teachers would show up since most of them gave up teaching us Southside kids. And in our case, we stayed up all night having a couple rounds of sex and booze.

After a while of just laying there and talking, we both fell asleep ignoring the world around us even just for a moment. But unfortunately, there are these things called nightmares that just love ruining your good dreams. I usually don't get nightmares ever since I started living with Sweet Pea which was two years ago.

It felt just like yesterday when I was just a little girl living with my mom and dad in our trailer. I was just a six-year-old girl who spent her time playing with toys rather than learning how to defend herself from the world. A week before that little girl's birthday. It only took a week before her life was changed or rather destroyed.

My mom was the most hardworking woman I knew. Never letting anything stop her from at least trying something before giving up. My mom was a serpent and from what the other serpents said there was a fight between a Northsider and a Southsider at the White Wyrm. They were far too drunk to know what they were doing and my mom had to take them outside before things escalated.

But it was too late for that. Things went too far because the next thing that everyone knew was my mom laying in her own blood. Hogeye told us the next day, the Northsider had a gun and shoot her dead. They took her life while she saved her fellow serpent's life. It's like the world just wanted to make my life a living hell.

"Where are you going, papa?" The six-year-old me asked as I watched him put bags in the car

"I'm...just gonna...um...tell" He struggled with his words before continuing "your grandmother about what happened"

"Then you'll be right back, right?" I had asked innocently

"Of course, Blair," He told me "I'll come back"

"Lair. Lair" I repeated before feeling someone shaking me awake

"You alright, Princess?" Sweet Pea asked sitting up and holding me close

"Yeah, I'm fine" I responded "just a bad dream is all"
