Today's the day

4 months later

The past four months has been hard work between my rehab for my hip and also looking at donors for our future baby. The donor we picked was tall, Cuban/American,smart, funny and if I was straight I'd date him.
It was just waiting for the insemination of our baby!

"Maggie I'm home!" Alex shouted as she came in the door and ofcourse I came to greet her even in just a towel.
She stood smiling at me in my attire and I knew what she was thinking.

"Hey eyes up here Love!" I joked pushing her chin up making her snap out her dream.

"Sorry habit! You ready for dinner tonight I know my parents are!?" She asked before planting a kiss on my cheek

"Yea of course I just can't decide what to wear...what do you think?" I responded turning and walking into the closet and scrambling through my outfits.

"The black one!" She shouted from the other room making me think as I didn't know what she was talking about.
I walked into the other room where she was packing away groceries.

"Alex what black one? I dont own a black dress" I asked smiling at her face.

"This one...I was looking through a few photo albums this morning and came across a photo one of our unofficial first dates" she smiled as she showed me the picture of us on the night we broke the alien fighting ring.

"Aww that black one...I forgot I had it because we never go out to fancy enough places for it!" I replied smiling at the night. I quickly walked into the closet and picked out the dress and then another. "I'll wear mine if you wear yours!" I shouted as I walked back through with the dresses we wore that night.
The smile on her face beamed as she looked up at me from the picture and winked.
"You got it!" She replied before walking round and taking it from me along with a kiss.

6 hours later
Alex pov

Having a secret kept from Maggie is a killer because she knows straight away if I'm hiding something. I decided while she got ready and she has been for hours I'd get some work done and get ready here.

"You look amazing Alex why don't you ever wear this!" Kara asked smoothing down my dress.
"Sentimental value" I replied smiling at the event again
"Do tell!" Kara pushed to get information that made me laugh at her needy personality.
"I wore it the night me and Maggie...." I slowly said before she interrupted
"Nope that's enough I don't want to hear about your sex life" she rushed covering her ears
"The night me and Maggie solved our first case!" I replied pulling her hands down making her laugh.
We were in there another 20 minutes before it was time to leave and I took a 10 minute cab ride to the apartment with a stop at a flower shop and the 2 minute elevator to the apartment where I knocked on the door with flowers in my hands.
Maggie opened and I couldn't make words as all that was rushing through my head was wow just wow!

"Alex? Are you ok!?" She asked watching me stare and then everything came back my words, my sanity and my secret
"You look absolutely gorgeous Mags seriously I forgot how good that dress looks on you!" I whispered before handing over the flowers and giving her a kiss
"Thanks babe you look amazing yourself look just as good as me!" She replied smiling as she put the flowers in a vase.

"You ready to go?" I asked looking at a text from my dad that said they were on their way to the restaurant.
"Yea let's go" she replied walking in the room as I opened the door for her to walk out and locking it.

We walked into the restaurant where my mom and dad were in the back. We walked over and the stood to greet us.
"You guys look great!" Maggie flattered making them smile and blush
"You guys look so much better look at those dresses are they new?" My mom asked taking a sip from her water.
"No we just haven't wore them in a long time!" I replied looking at Maggie again.

We finished up with dinner and were onto drinks...well the other three were i had work in the morning but we were all enjoying the singer that came on stage. People were up and down on the dance floor even my parents but me and Maggie, we're apartment dancers....so she thinks.
He finished another two songs until he began to sing one that surprised her that I had no clue about. "All through the night" Cyndi Lauper. I stood up and grabbed her hand as I guided her to the dance floor and I linked my arms around her waist and hers around mine.
All through the song I was building up the courage to tell her my secret and then I did and came up with a plan.

"Love you!" She whispered as she rested her forehead against mine
"Love you too!" I replied as the song finished "can I talk to You?" I asked making her face drop a little as she nodded. I grabbed her hand and guided her outside to the semi busy street and the line of people waiting to get in.

"What is it babe?" She asked as I pulled out my phone and went to my pictures but I hesitated "really you bring me out here to go on your phone" she laughed as I began to turn the phone round to reveal the picture to her.
"Maggie I'm pregnant! It worked!" I smiled as it took her a second to register and as soon as she did she grew a smile that went from ear to ear.
"What!" She screamed lifting me up and spinning me but then stopped quickly and placed her hand on my stomach.
"I went to the doctor this morning after feeling funny for weeks and she confirmed it that's the first picture of our baby" I smiled as she just stared at my phone
"Why didn't you let me come with you or at least told me you weren't feeling great!" She asked placing her hand on my face
"Because I wanted to surprise you like this...are you happy?" I asked making the smile bigger even though that wasn't possible
"I'm ecstatic!" She replied before pulling me in for a kiss before we went to go back inside but Maggie stopped and said she'd catch up and for me to tell my parents. I went in leaving her alone.

Maggie pov

Having today been the best day ever nothing could ruin it but I feel I'm about to. As I stared at my phone thinking about how I'm going to be a mom made me smile and that when a text came through from Alex of our baby made it better.
I went to my contacts and scrolled down to the contact I named "mama" it took a lot to press it but I did and all I'd expect was a continuous ring but...

"Maggie?"
